It is making absent parents! Their bodies are there but, nothing else, I feel so bad for those kids, I see it all the time when I am out, kids trying to show their Moms something and being ignored. I saw a woman a week ago that was on the phone and she took the baby's car seat out of the back with the baby in it, she almost dropped her phone she went to catch it and almost let go of her baby-what an idiot. Many kids today are very ill behaved there has to be reasons. I don't even own a cell phone, mostly because I don't like how people are today and I don't want to turn into one of them, I want to be there for my kids.

Parents are spending too much time on the phone---everywhere you look they are yakking and ignoring the kids. With cell phones, you can be on the dang phone virtually all the time and anywhere you want. Its truly a shame.

Hmm.. I guess cell phones are another step up to independancy because it equals them out with their parents to that extent.
Personally, I think it just makes them feel "older" and if they like feeling "older" how much quicker do you think, that they would be to try MORE adult things?
