My daughter is going to be in a wedding in 5 weeks, I need to know how to take her dress measurements. She has the waist of an 18 month, she is normal height for a 3 year old, and wears a 2t shirt size..
She wont be able to go to Davids Bridal to try on dresses, so the bride will be picking it up tomorrow. My wife and I have no clue what size of dress she needs..hence the measurements

wow it seems you have just described my daugher! hehe..i would give the the height measurement..around the waist...and around under her arms/chest...you could call into davids bridal with the measurements and they can see what would be best. Is it a long dress? If so i would go with whatever pants size she wears so the length is right..if they get a dress with a tie around the waist...that should help sinch it in....i would go for 2T or 3T depending on pants size. If you get the 2T just get some cute lacey socks if they happen to stick out under a slightly to short dress =)

ideal dress... and this isn't any longer too fancy for a marriage!!! i might circulate with a length 5, inspite of the incontrovertible fact that it relies upon on how your daughter grows... does she have unexpected enhance spurts? if so, i might get a length 5 - that way while October comes around, if she has all of sudden sprung up over the summer time, the way my young babies do, you may get it taken in somewhat to in fantastic condition her, and you're no longer caught with a dress she would be able to't positioned on. If funds isn't a controversy, purchase the two sizes - you may the two sell the unused one on ebay, or to a thrift save or something, and you would be coated the two way. :)

I'd look for a dress that ties in the back to adjust the waist, and buy a 3T to fit her height.

with a tape measure, measure her waist (all the way around) her torso (up and down), her shoulders (from the base of the neck to the beginning of her arm) and her arms. Then measure from her waist to her heels.

If its possible, the best thing would be to take an outfit that fits her to the store and lay it against the dresses to compare.
