I had a 24 hr. E.E.G. done ( to find out what has been causing me to have seizures ). The electrodes were glude to my scalp & forehead. Now that they've been removed, I have all this glue stuck all over my scalp. I have shoulder length hair. I considered cutting it all off, but I'd almost have to shave my head. The nurse said that it would take weeks to get it out. It leaves patches of hair in clumps. What does come, out is real flakey looking. Believe me ... this is not a good look. Is there a short cut to getting this glue out without using something that will damage my hair or scalp? I'm a redhead, so I have sensitive skin. ANYONE with a simuiar situation, or knowledege of, have any answer? I want to thank you in advance, if you have any solutions ...

Aqua net hardens the Gum or Glue and may help remove it.
Also try olive oil and there is a product called GOO GONE that will probably work without hurting your hair. It is a citrus cleaner.

Wet your hair and put conditioner in your hair and leave it in and try using a comb and starting at the bottom and combing up (in a straight downward direction-but using small pieces from the bottom first) to the top to get the glue out and the snarls out use the conditioner and be sure to keep the hair wet. This could take awhile but you will not have to shave your head! Be patient and Good Luck!

Rubbing alcohol usually dissolves solvents like that, but may be abrasive on your sensitive skin. Nail polish remover, which is mostly alcohol works well too. I might try some type of oil, (olive, canola, sunflower, etc. - whatever you have in your kitchen) maybe even peanut butter to get the oil to release.

I have heard of using creamy peanut butter to get sticky stuff out of hair. I saw a teacher at the school I work at use peanut butter to get gum out of a girl's long hair.

The Goo Gone that someone else mentioned might take it out.
