My brother isn't that good in english class (speech problems), but he's really bright in the other classes. He's in 7th grade, and this is his first D! I demanded his report card after 2 days of saying he forgot it and after I looked at it he was pretty upset and I was too, (worried about him and what would my mom do to him). Now I want to explain this to my mom, but how? I know my mom will ground him and not let him do some activites but how can I just convince her that it is maybe not entirely at his fault, and how to prevent screaming (usually when a sibbling gets in trouble, we all get in trouble)

you could start off and say hey mom this is only a suggestion but maybe before you punish (your brother's name here) maybe you should talk to the teacher because you know he usually never gets grades like this and maybe there has been a mistake or there is a problem :)

Who is the mom and why are you demanding to see his report card. I understand wanting to take some of the punishment away but we all have to suffer the consequences.

I had the same problem, id did rteally good in all of my classes except for science. But anyway , hes obviously trying his best because of all his other good marks and your first year of junior high is always the hardest so try explaining that to her and maybe she ownt be as mad.

the fact he did well in his other subjects would suggest he needs extra help with the English. The mom should talk to the teacher and ask the teacher why he/she thought your brother was not doing well. It would give your mom a direction to go in to help him improve his grade.

If it's lack of comprehension, then are you willing to help him? How about your mom? He needs help. Your mom should be happy it's only in one subject!

I am sure your mom can understand the situation, after all she is your mom, do not underestimate her love and understanding. And some good old grounding is a regular part of a happy childhood, you know...
