A crew cut is done with a shaver and cut real close to the scalp, but the top of the head is slightly longer than the sides which are pretty much shaved off. A buzz cut is the same cut as above except the sides are not shaved off, they are the same length as the top.

A buzz cut is close cropped evenly, a crew cut is close cropped around the sides and back with a little more lenght on top
