We recently moved to a new city and had to leave our support group who we have been with for five years. I have tried without any luck to find a group close to us that offers group testing but have not found any. The super. of our new school district suggested finding a cert. teacher to administer the tests for me. How do I go about finding one and does any one know if it is legal to administer the test myself in Ohio?

According to the HSLDA website, regarding homeschool testing in Ohio:

REQUIREMENTS: Submit with renewal notification either: 1) standardized test scores, or 2) a written narrative showing satisfactory academic progress, or 3) an approved alternative assessment.

The actual law may be more specific as to which standardized test you need to use and who can administer it. But if not, and you have a college degree, you can administer the ITBS (Iowa Test of Basic Skills) to your kids. You can order it for about $40 per test from Bob Jones University Testing and Evaluation.
