I have very thick, frizzy hair, and I straighten it a lot, because it makes it more manageable, but now I think it's become too damaged from the heat. Should I stop straightening it so much?

I am in the exact situation as you! I use Ion Heat Protectant. Do you use a heat protectant? It is one of the most important parts of straightening. But if you don't have one, then get one! If it becomes damaged, get a haircut on the ends and then take a break for a while.

i also have wild curly and frizzy hair and it gets tangled instantly and i cant brush it or comb it so i straighten it all the time. Lately ive been getting alot of spilt ends and stuff like that. Your really only supposed to starighten your hair once a month...and ive totally went over that. If you really want to have your permently straighten then see a hair salon. it is pricey but theres one where its much cheaper and its semi-straightens your hair. You can also but a hair straighten solution form a drug store

If you do not use some sort of a cream or gel to protect your hair against the heat from the blow dryer and straightener then I would recommend that, if you do then YES stop for a while and let your hair breathe

Your hair sounds like mine; very thick poofy frizzy hair. I've also bleached it twice [From nearly black to nearly white] and dyed it about 10 times and I see my hair healthier than ever because of my conditioner. I suggest Garnier fructis [What I use] for a cheap solution. If it doesn't get better, try to start straightening your hair maybe twice a week.

i think u should stop straightening it and focus on repairing and making your curls beautiful. but dont get me wrong i know how frusterating curls can be. i would srtaighten my hair every once and a while because i liked the change but it became a hassle and i got LOT of people complimenting the curls. besides straightening your hair dries it out a lot not to mention fries it every time. so i just personally think u may wannna stop and if u hav curls embrace em and use pruducts that are designed to get your hair the way u like.

Stop straightening it, give it a break. No pun intended. I have thick wavy hair, and when it grows long enough, i have a complete 8" afro. I just keep it short, but in a cute style, so as not to appear TOO butch. I WOULD like a BF.

Yes you should stop straightening your hair, but if you can't resist it...get some hair product to keep you hair looking healthy. But for a fact, if your hair is really damage, it is hard to make it look healthy unless you cut it and let new ones grow.

Nope! I LOVE my curly hair! I'd look really bad without it, and I think my hair should be its natural color and shape.
