And b4 you start to point fingers @ Roman Catholicism and their deeds over the last several centuries, I am referring to Jesus Christ Himself and those who REALLY follow Him (not perpetrators). If you take what Christ has done through the real Christians and compare it with the evil that other religions have spread throughout the world, the question is even more emphasized. In your own words, why is Jesus Christ the one who is still persecuted the most? Open your eyes....don't be deceived. Now answer the question.

At times it seems Christians praise Jesus more than they do God, but that's just my opinion. I am agnostic and I have nothing against religion. I have a problem with those who don't practice their religion PROPERLY. Those who don't practice properly (or are misinformed) can give others a negative view about that particular religion, which is sad.

Your question is an example of one of the problems we have in today's society. You said,"evil that other religions have spread throughout the world..." Religions don't spread evil. It's the people that do. THEY are the ones who are not following their religion properly. If you read the Koran (which you probably haven't), the text is very similar to the Bibile. Both are beautiful books, but the media makes it seem like they are two completely different religions. Before you judge, I say take the time to learn about other religions. I think if everyone was better educated, there wouldn't be so much ignorance in the world.

Persecuted by whom? I'm an atheist, and although I don't think that Jesus rose from the dead, I do think he was real and I do respect him the same way I respect Ghandi.

"If you take what Christ has done through the real Christians and compare it with the evil that other religions have spread throughout the world..."

This is a very biased statement. Those who truly follow any religion aren't causing harm. Most people bending Christianity and Islam to their will are doing so for some kind of political gain.

"If you take what Christ has done through the real Christians and compare it with the evil that other religions have spread throughout the world, the question is even more emphasized."

If you're implying that christians that did evil in Jesus' name weren't really christians, than the people that did evil in the name of other gods/philosophies are the same.

"Open your eyes....don't be deceived"

If you already know answers, why are you asking questions?

Jesus Christ, through out his life was persecuted because he challenged the norm and the people followed. He was successful. Status quo doesn't usually like it when it's being challenged.

Now, he isn't persecuted at all. In fact, different derivisions of his teachings are the norm in many, many places throughout the globe.

What are you talking about. Are you saying that over all jesus is persecuted more than any othe person in the world? Uhhhhhh Jesus, if he lived, lived 2000 years ago so I couldn't say he has been persecuted more than anyone else. I mean what the hell are you asking here. Are you asking if christianity is the most persecuted religion? I don't get the question. And besides stop trying to make what you believe out to be the martyr.

I don't believe Christians have been persecuted the most. That song and dance has been sung and danced before and it just don't float. Christians have done a great deal of persecuting themselves: the Spanish Inquisition and treatment of Native Americans in the 15-20th Century come to mind.

If you want to talk about REALLY following Jesus Christ, I'd be thrilled to meet one. I live in Southwest Missouri, Bible Belt Central, and I've yet to meat a REAL Christian.

Jesus Christ is never persecuted. He is dead and gone. Christians are criticized for not following Christs teachings. For example in the name of Jesus they persecuted the Muslims, massacred them, spread hatred among different religions. They commit some of the most heinous crimes. On one side they preach love and peace and on the other side they wage war and kill.
They still preach all other religions are wrong and try to convert people by alluring.. them .

He and his followers are not the most persecuted.

In many Western countries they are the majority and hold most of the political power. They just appear to have a persecution complex and consider it persecution if they are not getting special treatment above and beond what other religions get. A level playing field does not equal persecution. Historically, I'd say the Jews were WAY more persecuted. And nowadays, especially in the uber religious USA, it's atheists who have restrictions that others do not.

In advertising, there is something called creating an image. Think about how Jesus is depicted; then think about how the Buddha is depeicted or any of the Hindu Gods or Norse Gods, etc. The buddha is blissful. Now think of the way we imagine Jesus. Some might call it brainwashing. Now, that is the image of persecution. Regarding actual persecution, without knowing the thousands of religions in the world, your question does not reflect very careful thinking or evidence of any breadth of knowledge.

Well could it be a result of all the persecution that was done in his name over the centuries? It's not necessarily that people have a problem with Jesus himself, it's his followers.
