at the meat counter look for meatloaf mix, it is usually ground beef, veal, and pork, hawiiaan bread or white bread, lipton onion soup mix, cream of mushroom can soup, loaf pan
turn oven on to 350°, and take the bread out of the wrapper, in a popcorn bowl dump in the can of soup, one packet soup mix, and the ground meat, squish this together with your hands, take the bread and rip it into pieces without smashing it, squish this into the rest of what's already in the bowl. Now put that huge meatball into the loaf pan and push it into the corners and pat the top so that it's a loaf. Bake for an hour

Start with 2 lbs. of not too fatty meat. The reason being is that it will shrink after rendering all of the fat out. You certainly don't need to use the leanest, you want a bit of fat for flavor.
You really can't go too wrong with this.
Put meat in a big mixing bowl, add 2 eggs to keep it together. Then I let my creativity go wild. I usually put in a packet of dry onion soup mix, (Or saute some sliced onions in Olive oil in a frying pan stirring every few minutes so as not to burn and add some salt and pepper), some BBQ sauce and seasoning that I feel like that day......the soup mix is salty, so no more salt usually, but pepper is great if you like it.....about 1 tsp. You could do A=1 sauce or Catsup too. Mix all of this together and put in a loaf pan, or any baking dish that will keep the meat several inches high (think about the meatloaf that you've had). Cook uncovered at 350 for about 50 -60 minutes. Let cool a bit and slice.........great leftovers too. Some people like to spread some catsup on top, but I don't do this.

Here's my meatloaf recipe. My dad and brothers love it!

2 pounds lean ground beef
1 packet onion soup mix or 1 large onion (finely diced)
1 package (6-ounce) Stuffing Mix for Chicken
1 cup warm water
2 eggs
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup barbecue sauce

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
2. Place beef, onion and stuffing mix in large bowl.
3. Pour warm water over mixture and blend thoroughly with hands until all ingredients are well-incorporated.
4. Add eggs and blend thoroughly.
5. Place meat mixture into a large baking dish and shape into an oval loaf (or just use a large loaf pan).
6. Mix together ketchup and barbecue sauce and spread on top of meatloaf.
7. Bake for 1 hour or until cooked through (160 degrees F, internally).

Just get a pound of more of ground beef or ground chuck, a few eggs so it can stick together, bread crumbs, tomato sauce, tomato paste some diced onions, bellpepper, and cheese, and some seasonings like some salt, pep, seas salt, paprika...

You can get like a 13x9 square pan, a big loaf pan or any square pan with a lil bit of depth in it.

1.get your beef and put it in a bowl first because you're gonna be doing some molding and shaping before you get it going. add your diced onions and bell pep, season it real good.
2. Put some elbow grease and grind it up mix it and merge it all together, then add your 1- 2 eggs in. The eggs help it "stick together".

3. start to mold it into a loaf/square shaped formation. or you can always use a loaf pan to help you shape it then put it back in the big pan.

4. mix your tomato sauce and paste together in a separate bowl to get a med thick texture. i add some sugar to reduce some of the acidity. You can season this as well before you add it on the meat.

5. when you got your loaf shaped right, then pour the tomato mixture right onto the meat.
6. then add the breadcrumbs to top it off and sprinkle some cheese on it as well.

7. preheat your oven around 350 and let it cook for about 45-50mins or until its completely brown.
And voila, you have a home made melt in your mouth meatloaf!!

Here's a whole bunch of meatloaf recipes: http://allrecipes.com/Search/Recipes.aspx?WithTerm=meatloaf

When I make meatloaf I usually buy a McCormick Seasoning packet (I'm sure many other brands are also good) and just follow the directions on there. I believe all you need is 2 pounds of meat and bread crumbs. You can fix a meat loaf in either a loaf pan -- or you can use a large baking dish or cookie sheet -- just form your loaf in the center of the baking dish/pan.

Good Luck!

Yeah, here is a great way to make it and LOW FAT!

1) Take a regular, store-sized package of ground turkey, and put it in a mixing bowl.

2) Mix two eggs in the bowl with the turkey, and mix everything around with your hands.

3) Take a quarter of an onion and dice it...and then mix it in the bowl.

4)Add a teaspoon of oregano and half a cup of BBQ sauce in the mix.

5) Finally add your whole-wheat bread/toast crumbs(2 slices of toasted bread).

6) Mix it all together with your hands and mold it into the shape of a loaf on your oven platter.

7)preheat oven to 350 degrees, and when the light goes off, cook your loaf for one hour.

Hurry-Up Mini Meat Loaves

2 TBSP either dry minced onions or chopped minced onions
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 (5 ounce) can of evaporated milk
1/2 cup tomato sauce
3/4 cup of your favorite barbecue sauce or ketchup

Combine first 7 ingredients, use your hands to mix up the mixture into shape your mixture into small loaves...6-9 loaves you can make. Place it on rack of a greased broiler pan( Why? so the grease drain to the bottom but not around your loaves) Spoon barbecue or ketchup sauce over the loaves.
Bake at 450 degrees for 25-30 minutes and serve immediately!
Enjoy! =)

everyone says ground beef but I stopped using ground beef a few years ago and I make the best meatloaf ever.I use ground turkey!!Add an egg, bread crumbs, red, green, yellow pappers, mushrooms, onion, seasoning of your choice, even a ltle stir fry veggies, spread a small can of sauce on the top,oh buy a meatloaf pan, bake for about an hour.yummy oh and by the way,the ground turkey is much healthier and you won't get that grease that forms on the top.yick!
