Exercise daily...take a long walk or run, get your heart pumping. It releases endorphins that make you feel good. Also, talk to somebody...a friend or a therapist who can help you open up and come to terms with whatever might be the cause. those are 2 things to try. Good Luck!!

Change your diet and exercise more - studies have shown that a diet rich in calcium has made a marked improvement in many depression patients that medicine has not helped. Make a journal of the foods you eat if you are eating a lot of sweets and fatty snacks they are actually making you more depressed. Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables to curb the sweet craving and make sure you are getting the 8 - 8oz glasses of water you require daily. For exercise try yoga or ti-chi since they focus on calming you and releasing tension. Good Luck!

Talk to someone about what you're feeling. If you're feeling so depressed that you want to harm yourself, it would be best if you found a psychiatrist soon, but if not, then talking with anyone is a good start. Drugs can be very helpful, but they're not a cure. I took an antidepressant for a couple years, but I found that talking with someone helped me the most.
