It depends on what vegetables you are pickling, but usually a mixture of vinegar and salt. Just google the question and find a good recipe or go to your local grocery store and buy a mix. The mixes can be found with the canning supplies.

Easy.. use vinegar, and some time... now if you want some flavoring you can add some diced garlic or red peppers/pimientos and such... and you just stick them in a big glass jar and let them marinate. Don't quote me but I believe it takes anywhere from like 5-7days for the good pickling quality. Remember, all a pickle is is a cucumber in vinegar... The acidity is what gives it that different color and taste.

A very easy way is to wash fresh vegetables and pack them into a jar. Boil vinegar with salt and dill, fenugreek and/ or any other herbs to your liking. Poor vinegar over vegetables. put he top on it and let it cool. Store for a week or more for flavor.

sugar salt vinegar spices/. I use garlic corriander dill peppercorn there are no real rules except to use sterile jars and to get the right balance of acidity.
