Can You Keep a Secret?

why most people do that broke promise about keep secret?

I can keep a secret, but most people will just say they can but never do. They think if they tell the person they are telling the secret to, to not tell anyone else that should do it. Wrong.

I can keep a secret, but I only honor the request if it was given in advance: "If I tell you something, do you promise not to tell so-and-so?" I'll extract the teller's guarantee that keeping the secret will not harm anybody, and if that promise is given and accurate, I'll keep my trap shut.

But if somebody tells me something and then goes, "...but you can't tell anybody I told you that!"...well, it's too late to drag that promise out of me, isn't it? At that point, I'll do what I want to do!

Some people SUCK! But most of us can keep a secret! I know alot of them, and wouldn't tell unless I knew that person was going to harm someone or themselves otherwise I keep my mouth shut!

Because people are shallow and negative, to say nothing of how meddlesome they can be. They'd love nothing more than to spread your secret around... who knows what it will sound like when it finally gets back to you.. YIKES
