Hi! I know of a reservist that has been actived due to 9/11. Since that time he's remarried and enrolled his stepsons (who visit their deadbeat mom every other weekend) in the military DEERS and Tricare programs and has used these benefits even though he enrolled them fraudulently. Even more frightening is that I have reason to suspect he deceived the military regarding his education and in actuality has not earned his bachelor's even though he is an officer. He's being sued by someone for failure to pay for a service provided, so I think he has money problems. Letters/talks to his supervisor, first seargeant, and base commander, as well as Pass and ID on base, have been fruitless. This guy has a top secret clearance and I am concerned that if this is the level of integrity that he has shown openly, what other behaviors is he capable of and how much damage could he do to our country? Who should I contact with this information, or am I being over cautious?

For the first part of your question. Its not illegal to enroll stepchildren in DEERS. If they live with the soldier in his/her home, then the soldier provides daily support to the children, and that makes it allowable. How do I know this? Because that is the reason I was given at the DEERS office when my husband, who is a soldier, enrolled my daughter, his stepdaughter, in DEERS.

Second, an officer is required to turn in all school records, so he could not possibly have deceived the military regarding his education. How do I know this? Because my husband was enrolled in courses and both his classes, grades, and enrollment were monitored by the military very closely.

Third, a security clearance. A person does not have to be debt free to receive a security clearance if the debt is below a certain amount. How do I know this? Because this was explained to me by a security officer.

You are being overly cautious, and that is why the letters and talks to the supervisor went nowhere, and they will continue to go nowhere.

I am not Saying you are wrong here--I am saying a few things just don't sound right. If he is activated (curently Active Duty) he is eligible to have his wife, natural kids and step kids enrolled in DEERS as long as they meet the eligibility criteria.

Secondly, It would be very hard to get Commissioned on a diploma mill degree. Transcripts and diplomas are checked by the branch against a list of accredited VA schools for validation. If you are certain that there has been some pay offs or something to that extent, contact his Services Inspector General--just make sure you are right.

First are you certain of what you are saying? are you the soldiers ex wife? You can enroll a step child in DEERS. If you suspect Fraud Waste and Abuse. Contact the Pentagon a tell them you want to blow the whistle on someone, I believe you can find the information on the web under whistle blower. I doubt seriously if anything will happen to this guy first he is not active duty, reservist and national guards high enlisted get away with murder, it is very difficult. It would be easier if he was on Active
Duty. Yesterday we saw on AFN Armed Forces Television on the Pentagon Channel two Reserves General I swear they were about 300 pounds they looked like Rollie pol lies we could not believe our eyes how can they allow someone like that in the Army. So there you have it. I believe you are wasting your time. In Active Duty our General is the first one running PT, the first one at the Gym, rain, cold , snow etc...

Your son's Recruiter will ask him if he has EVER been Arrested, Apprehended, Charged, observed, or Held, by ANY regulation enforcement organization, EVER, in spite of the outcome. Failure to reply to easily, if he effectively pursues the enlistment and this is later discovered, might want to outcome in his discharge below quite of Honorable situations and can want to have an outcome on his opportunities for warm employment in trhe civilian sector. The OD, will require a Psych diagnosis, and depending upon his age on the time he OD'd, might want to outcome in his rejection from military service. on an identical time because this is practicable, even likely that he might want to get a waiver for the DUI, or maybe flow the Psych Eval, your son will not in any respect qualify for any military job that calls for a protection clearance. also, his opportunities for enlistment into the military are a lot more effective powerful than his opportunities with the Air stress, that are without hassle 0. He does no longer ought to inform them something about his previous attempts to enlist, because the information is maintained interior the databases that are open to the entire alternatives and MEPCOM, and could floor once a recruiter schedules him for MEPS processing.

Contact me if you're on the level. If your statements can be verified, I have the right people on tap.

I will say that you're not necessarily correct about the "fraudulent" enrollment of his stepsons in DEERS and TRICARE.

If he doesn't have a bachelor's degree and is a commissioned officer, something is screwy unless one of a very few exceptions applies. This is easily verified.

What I really want to know is what is your role in this scenario? Why are you so concerned about what this person is doing? Your claim has no real basis; therefore, no one should be able to give you a definite answer. However, my concern is you.

if he is married legally to his step kids mom, then they are eligible for tricare and all other benefits. Sounds like you have a personal grudge with this guy, get over it.
