My doctor told me to take a laxative and a sleeping pill before bed tonight....should I?

First thing I would like to know is, why? He must have had a good reason.. though it does sound a bit strange.
FYI - Laxatives take a while to work.. sometimes depending on your body they could take from 6 - 8 hours to really kick in.
Secondly what in the world kind of sleeping pill is he giving you that's going to make it impossible for you to wake up and use the bathroom? That's some strong pill..
If you are really concerned, call him back up and aks him, what gives Doc?

you should because a doctor is very highly trained and qualified so maybe take a laaxative an hour before u take the sleeping pill so the laxative can make time to work thn u go toilet thn take the sleeping pill and that should give you a good nite sleep :)

do the laxatives work fast or to they normally take until the next morning.. cause most of the times it prolly won't kick in until the next morning. so take the sleepin pill.. but if the laxative goes through you fast.. i wouldn't take that sleepin pill.. cause that just has the opportunity to get kinda nasty!

Yes, this is a bad idea. You should take the laxative int he morning. Or else when your asleep you will not be able to control your bowel.

No, I would recommend that you take a laxative with Paxil (the anti-depressant).
That way, you won't be able to get off the toilet, but you'll feel good about it!

yes, but you have to not move so much, like maybe you should sleep before. you should take it. Listen to the doc.
