Between 6 -12 months. She will noticably swell round her Vulva and then have a red/brown blood discharge, lighter but similar to a womans period.
Unless you plan to become a breeder then I would have her spayed before this happens. She will be healthier, happier and you won't have the problems with male dogs hanging around your garden, or her trying to get out to meet them. Breeding pups is expensive, time consuming and for the sake of the breed better left to experts.

Female dogs can come into season when they're 6 months old. Their heats usually then come every 6 months thereafter, but some dogs have "split seasons" (when they come into heat in 3 months instead of 6).

Signs of a heat include a swollen vulva and bloody discharge. Female dogs in heat can also become very aggressive toward other females, and can turn into great escape artists as they try to get out where the males are to breed.

For your dog's health and safety, it's always best to have her spayed.

my 2 staffies came into season at 6 months.
you will first notice swelling (you will see where!)
then tiny red/brown spots of blood.

i got my spayed at about 2/3 seasons later. they can get womb cancer later on if they dont mate.
if you dont plan on breeding, get them spade.

hope that helps.
