would light the match? Anyone who "freely chooses" to get burned if obviously not sane. Our court systems would lock up someone who did this. Why is it moral behavior in a god?

Read the book called "boundaries by Tom Townsend." Cognitive therapy in the area of boundaries and boundary violators is a good first step. Take a step back and look how much destruction is caused by anger. Anger is involved in the whole thing. This rips you and others off from a close relationship. Relationships take hard work and commitment. The short cut of pushing and shoving catches up and the emotional bill is heavy. Changing is hard work, but possible. it will not be easy. No shortcuts!

For starters, those people who are "obviously not sane" are ones who base all of their thoughts and assumptions on "scientific fact" and "common sense". Besides, Christianity isn't simply narrowed down to a simple statement like that. People normally act like God is at fault, when it is our sin that separated us from Him. He loves us enough to make a way for us, through Jesus. If you don't accept that gift, it is 100% and without a doubt, your choice. It's not lighting someone on fire my friend, it is simply giving these people what that have always wanted: an existence separate from God. That is what they have been fighting for and even have said it bluntly on Yahoo! answers. Try to picture Hell as eternal separation from God, with the full and complete understanding that you made that choice. Not a furnace.

It's not moral behavior for anyone, let alone a god.

It is quite disturbing, actually, that people want to worship a god who would burn and torture his creations for eternity. Such a god should be shunned, not worshiped.

If you were in a burning building, and someone happened to see you trapped in there, broke a hole in the building and died to make a way for you to escape, and you refused to leave.....who is responsibile for your subsequent death? You of course. The one who died to make a way for your escape is not to blame if you stay to burn.

So it is in life. We are all in a burning building, because we are all sinners. But Jesus saw us trapped, and died to make a way for us to escape the fire, and find new life. You have a choice. The price has been paid. The door is open. If you choose life, you will never regret it! But if you choose the fire, you will always wish that you had been just a little bit smarter, and gone through the door that is Jesus.

Don't delay. Leave the burning house of sin, run to Jesus, He is waiting with open arms to let you know just how much He loves you, and how hard He has been trying to communicate His love to you. Jesus died so that you don't have to. That is love.

God would never offer to set you on fire ... that is simply not the choice He offered you.

He told you, you are going to die, this is definite, where will you spend eternity after you die?

If you want to make a comparison to mortal things, try this one: you fall off a boat and are drowning ... someone throws a lifebouy and tells you "grab on, I'll pull you up, otherwise you'll drown!" and you have the audacity to say "you must be insane, I want more options!" as you continue to drown.

Now, given that scenario, who's the lunatic? The one trying to save you, or you for being so proud and arrogant for suggesting a third method to being saved?

Yes quite... Unfortunately the only answer you'll get on this is Christians vaguely trying to answer the question when they can't. All they can do is recite something from the bible or create something that doesn't make any sence at all.
