Why would God want people who are genuinely fair and good to burn literally in hell forever and ever only because they have a diffrent religion? I seriously cannot understand that. Please explain your thoughts.

Wow! Thank you for all your answers so far. All I'm saying is that if Jews are the chosen people how can they be sent to hell if since they didn't accept Christ as savior? Or uber peaceful Buhddist monks and people who have never heard of Christianity? And don't tell me they're not out there, because I've heard of entire tribes of people being discovered in recent history living in the middle of nowhere. It makes no sense.

He doesn't want you to... you choose to... let me ask you a couple of questions... have you ever lied? stolen anything? if you have then in God's book you are a lying thief... do you think God could ever let someone like that into heaven? no matter how good they were aside from that? It is not what God wants, not at all, He does not want you to burn in hell but He is under obligation to punish sinners... He cannot condone ANY kind of sin, even if He wanted to... He loves you so much but if you really believe that you can get by without Him then you have sinned against Him and set yourself up... in more logical terms... you may be a good person but if I don't believe in premarital sex and you do I cannot have a close relationship with you as a friend because I cannot condone your behaviour... no matter how much I want to befriend you and get to know you, I can't make you see my way and I also can't associate with you when you choose not to see... there is nothing I can do about what others think and do... the same goes with God... He gave you free will so He can not MAKE you see or do anything... it is purely YOUR choice... not God's...

Love doesnt negate justice. You do not have the eys of God and can see what "good people" do when youre not looking. God also has a different idea of "good" compared to the world. The world all too often has a bad habit of calling good bad and bad good. You cant seek Gods forgiveness on your own terms. You gotta realize that all have sinned and are in danger of hell.

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. -2 Peter 3:9

Good question. It is based on a misconception, but when in doubt always asking why is a good thing. GOD does not want anyone to burn for eternity. I am going to answer this as if you believe that there is a GOD and that He choose to reveal Himself through nature and ultimately through a personal letter to you, commonly known as the Bible. If you do not believe any of these things are true, you can stop reading. If you are compelled to keep on reading you have given me the right to talk about them as I believe. GOD's goal for every human is to spend eternity in a fulfilling relationship of friendship with Him. A relationship that satisfies every longing of our beings.
A real relationship of friendship can only be based on two things: that there are two separate beings and that these beings want to relate to each other. They have to choose to be together. If there is no separate beings there is no relationship and if there is no choice there is no friendship. Based on this I have to say that He created beings that are similar but separate from Him and beings that can choose between having a relationship with Him or not. Therefore, hell is the consequence of our own choices. Hell is nothing more than to choose eternity without GOD.

people need to get to know the true God. Satan wants us to believe that God is cruel and heartless. God did not create a place of fiery torment, man did.

“Hellfire” has been a basic teaching in Christendom for many centuries. It is understandable why The Encyclopedia Americana (1956, Vol. XIV, p. 81) said: “Much confusion and misunderstanding has been caused through the early translators of the Bible persistently rendering the Hebrew Sheol and the Greek Hades and Gehenna by the word hell. The simple transliteration of these words by the translators of the revised editions of the Bible has not sufficed to appreciably clear up this confusion and misconception.” Nevertheless, such transliteration and consistent rendering does enable the Bible student to make an accurate comparison of the texts in which these original words appear and, with open mind, thereby to arrive at a correct understanding of their true significance.
In 1885, with the publication of the complete English Revised Version, the original word she’ohl′ was in many places transliterated into the English text of the Hebrew Scriptures, though, in most occurrences, “grave” and “pit” were used, and “hell” is found some 14 times. This was a point on which the American committee disagreed with the British revisers, and so, when producing the American Standard Version (1901) they transliterated she’ohl′ in all 65 of its appearances. Both versions transliterated hai′des in the Christian Greek Scriptures in all ten of its occurrences, though the Greek word Ge′en‧na (English, “Gehenna”) is rendered “hell” throughout, as is true of many other modern translations.

Concerning this use of “hell” to translate these original words from the Hebrew and Greek, Vine’s Expository Dictionary of Old and New Testament Words (1981, Vol. 2, p. 187) says: “HADES . . . It corresponds to ‘Sheol’ in the O.T. [Old Testament]. In the A.V. of the O.T. [Old Testament] and N.T. [New Testament], it has been unhappily rendered ‘Hell.’”

Collier’s Encyclopedia (1986, Vol. 12, p. 28) says concerning “Hell”: “First it stands for the Hebrew Sheol of the Old Testament and the Greek Hades of the Septuagint and New Testament. Since Sheol in Old Testament times referred simply to the abode of the dead and suggested no moral distinctions, the word ‘hell,’ as understood today, is not a happy translation.”

First of all God does not want anyone to go to hell. It says so in His Word. He desires that none perish. God is holy and only God. We aren't holy but can become holy through the blood sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ. Humans made a choice in the garden of Eden and since then we can not commune with God because we sin. Genuinely fair and good people still sin so they are not holy. Only when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior then we become holy to God through Jesus and we can once again commune with God. It isn't hard it is actually very simple and it will give you a peace and joy that no one else can give. So the devil comes along and tries to steal, destroy and kill and that is why some people won't go to heaven because they believe the lies of the world or satan.

God is light
Hell is Darkness
God is peace
Hell is torment
God is freedom
Hell is bondage
God is love
Hell is anger
God is joy
Hell is fear
Hell is separation from God like darkness is simply absence of light, or cold is absence of heat. The bible is written in a 'romantic' and simplified sense.
I believe God will abolish evil and its followers. I don't believe in eternal torment. It just doesn't make sense to me either.

God does not want you to go to hell- we send ourselves there, by rejecting Him and the salvation that comes through Christ. The Bible says, that "He wants ALL men to come to the knowledge of the truth". He is love- He sent His son to die on the cross so that we can live eternally with Him. Love kept Jesus on that cross- he had millions of angels to come to His bidding save him. In the garden of Gethsamane, He asked God to remove the cross from Him , but said , not my will but thine be done. That is love- that He laid down His life so that we can live with God forever, we can escape hell, but only through the love and sacrifice of Christ. We all deserve hell.

those souls who or not of the Spirit will be separated from those that is of the spirit.that is all.hell is only for the truly evil ones who hurt others amongst us.many many people or not of the Spirit, Jesus said all that call on the name of the Lord will NOT be saved, ONLY those that do my fathers will will make it to heaven.so many people who THINK that their going to heaven will not get there, they will not however go to hell.but WILL be separated from those of the spirit in heaven.in my fathers house or many Mansion's.I wish you the best on your spiritual journey.to go to heaven you must ask of the spirit of God, listen for the answers and then do Gods will as best you can.
theirs many religions, One God,. One Spirit of God and One Soul in each of us, God is not going to burn anyone for not believing in a certain religion, that would be weird. my God is NOT weird.By the way I LOVE Azalea's .have about 3 hundred in my yard.most Southerners like azalea's.Peace.

Do you notice the development? the better the authority, the bigger the punishment. in case you dedicate that crime against the everlasting maximum intense God over all- What shall your charge be? in case you have ever lied, you're a lier, in case you have ever stolen, you're a thief, in case you have ever lusted over a woman, you're an adulterer. etc..we are no longer good via any ability, and all of this undesirable we've carried out against God. Our sins have separated us from him, and the place he's not contemporary - evil is. because of the fact God is everlasting, the punishment is everlasting. the suited penalty against the suited rules is everlasting death. yet wager what? God has made a manner for you. He has interceded on your behalf and paid your penalty on your crimes. that is via your determination which you settle for the charge and get away the penalty for which you and all human beings deserve. have self belief that Jesus Christ is God, and that he died on your sins so as which you will stay.

It is written, that God so loved the world that He sent His Only Begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him will not peristh, but will have ever lasting life.

That it is not Gods will that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance and receive eternal life.

Hell was made for the devil & his angels/messengers. To be a messenger of satan, is just spreading satans destructive message and be destructive, etc...

People will go to hell who deny Jesus Christ. Not those who didn't hear the Good News that we can be reconciled with God. One has to purposely reject God, the Father, Son & Holy Spirit when presented correctly (& Gods Spirit presented). (Also consider blasphemy of the Holy Spirit) People blaspheming the Holy Spirit has never forgiveness. It is the Holy Spirit who convicts the world of not believing is Jesus Christ the Lord & Gods Saving Grace. Quit resisting the Holy Spirit. Submit to God & confesses Jesus Christ Lord & believe in your heart He shed His Own Blood for the remission of your sins and raised from the dead for your justification.

To correct an answer below, it is written that whosoever shall call upon the Lord shall be saved.

The person below is bringing up something told to someone when they are standing before Christ, after this life on earth. That person never confessed Jesus Christ Lord of his/her life, but was religious, yet abided in iniquity. That person actually never had a relationship with Christ, by being born again. Was always in a pre-salvation state, yet never confessed Jesus Christ Lord or believed in ones heart. Jesus can never tell anyone born of God, "Depart from me, workers of iniquity, I never knew you.".
