You need meds.. chemically, if you are truly bipolar your brain is wired different than most people. Just like an epileptic needs meds, so does a bipolar person. People won't understand it's biological but don't listen to them; everyone has their stupid opinion. Listen to the ones who are bipolar because they know. You need to talk to a doctor because it can make bipolar worse if you only take an antidepressant. Get help. I found out in my 20s I was bp and only wish I got a diagnosis as soon as you did.

Yes. I have BPII (have been diagnosed for several years). It takes a long time to learn how to handle it.

There are several bipolar groups in yahoo_groups. I suggest you check those out. They have good information and if you are active on the boards you can get to know the people, and that's kind of nice to know other BPII people.

If you are so sad that nothing makes you happy, even the things that normally do, then you are probably depressed. Ask your doctor whether you can take some antidepressant or make other adjustments to your medicine.

Also, some BPII persons are sensitive to light. For example, I get depressed in the winter when there is less sunlight. If that is your case then you can get a "britelight" to give you more sunshine.

I have bipolar 2. It's rough to live with but with the right meds and therapy it does get better. I'm going through a rough time myself right now. I'm assuming you're on an antidepressant. The first thing you need to do is let your doctor know how depressed you are. He may adjust your dosages. I have found for myself that tanning or a sun lamp helps with the depression. You're lucky you are diagnosed at such a young age, you will manage it better. I wasn't diagnosed until i was 28. I lived through the mood swings and often wondered what was wrong with me. Then I finally had an answer. Good luck to you.

i know that since you are 15 you might not be able to..but i would suggest getting a dog. it works for me..i was diagnosed when i was 12 and i got a dog after i got out of the hospital..and she can always make me smile. when i'm sad i take her out and play with her to get my mind off things..and having her really keeps me going because she always gets so excited to see me i can't help but be happy
good luck
