When a Christian talks about terrorism done in the name of Islam they like to bring up the Christian Crusades.

Do Muslims really know what brought about the Crusades?

Here is a little History lesson;
Islamic conquests started in 632 BC after the death of Muhammad.

In 1095 BC Orthodox Christians (non-Catholics) requested help from the Catholic Church which, was bigger, because they didn't want to be conquered by Muslims.

So, again, Muslims started a war because people they wanted to conquer wanted no part of them. They are still screaming to this day because people fought/fight back at Muslim aggression.

Modern day attempt of Muslim conquest -- The Sudan and those people are fighting back. When will some Muslims learn that people are going to defend themselves. When will some Muslims learn that if you hit me, I'm going to hit you back even harder.

What does the Roman Empire have to do with this. The Roman persecuted Christians and anybody else they could too.

Muslim conquests started in 632 AD till 2007 AD and to numerous to mention but quite easy to look up.

Watch where you're throwing stones.

Because they think somehow the atrocities in other religions somehow nullifies Islam's inhumane and violent teachings.

And yes the Crusades was infact a noble cause fought against Muslim aggression. Islam was spread by pillaging, killing, and looting. Saying that Muhammad was defending himself against the other tribes is like saying Hitler was defending himself against the Jews.

"The Sudan and those people are fighting back."

The Sudan and those people? You do know that Sudan is 70% Muslim, right? You do know that the majority of its government is made up of Muslims? And you do know how ridiculous you sound using Sudan, a Muslim country to make the point you're trying to make?

"When will some Muslims learn that people are going to defend themselves."

That's a very good question. You can say the same about SOME Christians. When are some Christians (ie: Bush) gonna learn that if you invade a nation to steal its oil supplies, the people aren't gonna line up like sheep at a slaughter house? I agree, it's ridiculous how SOME people expect to just take everyone over without resistance.

"When will some Muslims learn that if you hit me, I'm going to hit you back even harder."

I don't know. Since the Muslims who commit terrorism and start wars (they only make up like 1% of the population) aren't very smart, it's hard to expect them to comprehend that way.

EDIT: An attempt by an Islamic minority to invade Orthodox nations 1000 years ago does not excuse what the Catholic Church attempted to do to the middle east. The wanted to invade, conquer and forcefully convert the entire middle east because of something that a minority did. And they didn't only try to do it once, they tried to do it several times. And not just Muslims either. Any other non-Christian religion was on its list as well.

Okay !! i won't talk about Crusade , just giving the list of christains invasions after WW2, the worse example of terrorism, Btw these are american invasions and i don't like to call it chrisatian ones but sometimes i feel helpless when i see such questions !

"if you hit me, I'm going to hit you back even harder"

i agree with this part of your question......so i think now muslims should hit harder as they have been hit alot and ther is limit to everything ......NO????

Man !! you peoples have killed millions of peoples just in half century and what to say about those crusades......But still you are "innocent"

Cool !!

Edit :

Even if they had invaded the places , they were peacful, they hadn't done wht the other invaders used to do with the nation they invade...and always let the peoples to live on their own ., thats wht islam teaches, but this is not an excuse for the crusads..... the whole spain was converted to christanity after invading it and muslims were thrown out of it brutally, Muslims ruled Sub-continent for more than 1000 years but still muslims are in minority because they had never used force there.....and once they were in, they used to correct the governament and not destroy it. Btw this was a common custom that time to go for such invasions..........Alexander was not muslim but still he conqured to major parts of world.......so whats wrong if muslims did so? most of these invasions were to take their place back. but can you justify the above mentioned invasions?? its just you have said that we should not mention crusade.....and i didn't !!but Man !! there are much more for you peoples to justify than muslims !

You are the one bringing the subject up, are you not?
Why is it you refer to Christians fighting a "crusade" but Muslims you use "atrocities"? I think you need to take a long hard look in the mirror with regards to whom has a problem about what. Your limited view is just that "your view" I am not assuming all Christians think like you or have the same views as you. You seem to be doing a lot of assuming on behalf of Muslims. You are obviously here just to spread hate good luck with that.....how very "christian" of you.

Okay, but how far did the Roman Empire expand before they collapsed? And Mohammed (SAW) lived in the 7th century CE, not BCE, and the Crusades took place in the 11th and 12th centuries CE also.

As-Salamu Alaykum - Peace be upon you.

Edit: The Roman Empire has everything to do with it because the Romans were the first people to commit mass genocide towards other peoples. You cannot accuse one group without accusing the other.

Crusade for Christ was a guide book on how to commit genocide. Look at how many Western dictators learned from it. Can you say Stalin, Hitler, Mousilini just to name a few. The Catholic Church did not have clean hands in it either. The Pope of Rome ordered millions killed.

Yes, and it was the Byzantine Empire that needed help from invasions of the Turks

Oh yeah.

632 AD, you mean?

Anywho, there's still a 400-500 year difference.

Yep. Muslims invented Crusades. Google "Battle of Tours" France. It took non-Muslims 4 centuries to start their first crusade.

Truth is amazing, huh?

They ignore the 300 years of Christian/Muslim conflict that took place before the Catholic Crusades.

It is easier to say that they are the real victims than to actually try to defend what is done in the name of Islam. People do it in their personal relationships too. It's a great way to divert a criticism when you don't want to have to change what you are doing.
