They are a different type of sensation. One burns with heat and the other is chemical. Jalpenos vary also.Some people can eat hotter food than others. Some people can eat hotter peppers than others.

Me, I can not eat peppers or onions, I am allergic.

Actually a Habanero or Thai Chile are much hotter on the hotness scale (called the Scoville scale) than a Jalapeno pepper.
Hot food is usually made hot by putting either dried, fresh chiles or liquid hot sauce in it.

I'd say extremely hot foods made with habaneros. Habanernos are hotter than jalapenos.

well it depends on what the hot food is made with, for example if it is made with something like habanero, than it is definitely going to be hotter than a jalapeño, but if it is just heated up with a few spices, than a jalapeño would be hotter.
