I just want to get more of an understanding why men feel the need to torture their girlfriends for months about getting engaged? I could see making a comment once or twice to see her reaction, just to confirm if she'd say yes, but to do it, just for fun, it's just wrong. Especially if he isn't planning on proposing for many months. I know I am not the only going through this, so I know there are many men out there that enjoy to torture their girlfriends for months and some even years. And then when we complain about, even is in our face that we are pressuring them, when all we want them to do is stop bringing it up and just do it when they are ready. I feel it sort of ruins the whole romance. I mean when my parents got engaged, my father didn't torture my mom, instead, when he felt it was right, he just proposed to her and she was totally surprised. How romantic is that!!!

Courting is an art. Sometimes love comes more from teasing also. Abrupt, sudden proposal kills the purpose. The excitement and the surprise is the key. Have you ever seen the mating of some of the animals? Teasing is the main aspect. Some people take more pleasure in teasing and some do not. So take it easy and try to enjoy it. You will be more than happy. A good meal after a strenuous work is more pleasing. Is it not?

I can totally relate. By bf told me that he had purchased the ring even!! So of course I opened my big mouth to my Friends telling them he was gonna propose. since he didn't for a while they all kept asking about it and i had to tell them "not yet". Finally i confronted my bf and asked him what he was waiting for if he already had the ring. Basically he wanted to plan a huge production. But then why tell me about it in the first place!!!!???? I told him I didn't want a big production so he just took me to dinner on the water and asked me there. It was sweet and perfect. We are happily married now for a whole 2 months! Maybe your bf is trying to plan something, so if that's what u want then maybe wait it out, if not...attack him ...lol. Good luck

Well I'd say that he's relishing this engagement tease just as we women have always relished the art of a c*ck teasing.

When you know someone wants something that bad...
It can be quite entertaining to prolong the wait.

Yeah a little bit sadistic...but it's obviously working magic on you girl or you wouldnt have brought this to us here @ Y!A.

Teasing = torture? Uhh, since when? I like to tease girls but do I consider this to be torture? DO they? I don't think so. Maybe you need a find a sane male instead of the one your with.

My boyfriend said I should propose to him. We used to be engaged but I broke it off. Now we've been dating and we're back to the same point in our relationship. But he says I should propose to him this time seeing how I broke it off the first time. I would do it if he really wanted me to, but I found out he's been secretly planning to propose to me again.

If he isn't planning on proposing for many months it doesnt really make sence to me. Teasing someone about something like that isnt really fair to do, specially if you really love that guy and do want to marry him. My boyfriend and I talked about it a few times and he joked about it a couple times but I think its really out of nervousness that they do it or so it seems to me.

Probably payback for teasing/torturing in the beginning when he wanted some action.

I wouldn't do that I would ask when I'm ready, as a matter of fact i don't like to even talk about it until the time is right.

Becoz they want to feel secure, they want to make sure you'll be there for them no matter what, and well they have their own stupid ways of making sure of that!
