I believe that when a person chooses their sexual preference, it is something that they are born with, not due to outside factors generally.... I am sure there are some situations where children are unfortunately abused, and therefore due to the trauma, may have a clouded vision of their sexuality, and preferences.

No, there are gay people that were raised by their birth parents, and there are gay people that were adopted.
Adoption has nothing to do with it.
In fact, all of the gay people that I know were raised by their biological parents.
