Forget what anyone else has told you about champagne (good for New Years and weddings) or cabs (bitter). You want Rosa Regale. It's a sparkling wine that's not offensively sweet.
At a tasting, I learned that it tastes really good when you chase it by eating a Hershey Kiss. Ladies, that's chocolate and booze in one sitting.
Me and my buddies dubbed this the official "impress a chick wine".

Well I guess it depends what you like, and what you're eating. Wine in general, is probably a more "romantic" option compared to beer. . . .Base your type of wine on your meal of choice. Keep in mind, whoever you're celebrating Valentines Day for, you'll want to incorporate all their favorite things.
