Standard is 1.5 oz of liquor in U.S. pourers. However, depending on the proof of the drink or whats being mixed with it, it can be more or less in a drink recipe. I've seen it as low as an ounce and as high as 3 ounces and still referred to as a single shot in a lot of drink books.
