I had been recieving child support from both my children fathers for two years. Everthing was going well until the judge allowed both fathers to stop paying suddenly in June w/o explanation. B/c of child support I was able to move my children out of a bad neighborhood into a bigger home, better schools, and provide extracurricular activites. I was able to work less and be home with my children, and work full time at finishing my bachlors degree. Since the stop of child support I have had to drop out of school, and take only one class at a time, discontinue extracurriclar activites b/c I had to return to work full time at two jobs and my kids spend a majority of their time with an unsafe sitter that I can afford. I have e-maild, written, and called everyone in the state to get some answers and try to continue with the child support, but find myself at a dead end. I am not allowed to contact the judge directly, and both their fathers are reluctant to pay and spend time with kids. Help?

That makes no sense. Call a lawyer. Something sounds fishy in Denmark.

I can't think of any reason the judge would "allow" them to stop paying child support, unless they are 18 years old. You need a lawyer. Do you have copies of the papers ordering then to pay child support? You need to file a motion saying that they are not following through with th orders. The judge must have said a reason why they don't have to pay...please share that bit if information with us.....it will help a lot.

i have no idea why judges would just 'drop' child support for these children... for they dont unless there is good reason. if you told the judge what you said here 'able to afford bigger house, more activities for the children, dont have to work as much, spend more time with the kids' maybe he thought you didnt need it. serves ya right for saying doopid crap like that. here the rest of us single parents cant get by with our child support... not covering 1/3 of the childs expenses, and your making it sound like a cash cow.
in any case, judges dont just drop it without cause. if they do, report the judge to the state and feds committee's and orgs that govern the judges.
not enough details to answer how (if we dont know why we dont know how to fix it). all i can tell you is try faxing (not phone calls, not writing, faxing only)
1) your states attorney general
2) your states governor
3) your Regional FEDERAL Child Support Office
write a short letter; contact info, case number and how the judge dropped your child support. ask what they can do to help. ask if this is legal.
here are the links; just find your state.

Get a copy of the judgement entry that allowed this. This does not make sense that both of the fathers where allowed to stop. Are they in prison? Did you get notified of a court date or hearing date and not show up? Contact your county agency and ask to speak to your caseworker.

Maybe you should have stayed with the dads if you wanted all the benefits of having a spouse. My husband's ex-wife is just like you. Living the good life, staying home, having lots of fun, kids getting everything they want while he foots the bill. Sorry, but I think that is complete BS. She takes a HUGE chunk of our income and we are left struggling while she is living well. I just don't think it is fair especially as she cheated on my husband, so it wasn't his fault the relationship ended. Sorry, but I am sick and tired of the dads always getting a bad rap. I wish that we could have the judge that ruled on your cases.

1st off 2 children and 2 different fathers. Maybe they quit paying because they are not the fathers. I mean how would you know? sounds like you sleep around allot. When you have a child you need to be prepared for what you will do to support it without help. You are probably going to be in court allot and paying someone to help you figure out how to get the support back and more then likely their will be paternity tests so keep working to pay for this. There are people who are good sitters that more then likely could be fair priced look around. Good luck and remember your bc! Oh ya welcome to parenthood with sacrafice and huge responsibilities.

You are probably not going to be able to get to the bottom of this without hiring a lawyer. So, contact one if you don't already have one, that specializes in child custody arrangements.
