Although I would recommend continually switching your shampoos/conditioners regularly, John Frieda products work really well, especially when they're the colour formulated protectors. I use the Brilliant Brunette range (Chocolate to Expresso) and as much as I do sound like an advert my hair colour is retained a lot easier and its shinier. If you're interested in colour protection for your hair try the Pantene range, as well as Aussie products for colour protection, they're the ones I find work best. Ideally to avoid the greasy aspect, stay away from shampoos that claim they deposit colour minerals on your hair, you just need the ones that wont wash the dyes out.

it is brilliant!!!! i use it all the time, it gives hair a lovely clean shine and it leaves it feels soft and managable, after just shampooing it doesn't leave your hair feeling all dry and stuff at all. It works even better if you use the full range of products so after washing hair with the shampoo and conditioner use the shine shock glossier when hair is wet (only a 5p blop size) and then style using the brilliant brunette hairspray you hair will look great, it really is worth the money your paying for it.

You can give your hair abit more colour by using the brilliant brunette luminous colour glaze in the same colour that your shampoo is, after a few uses you will see colour starting to build.

I swear by brilliant brunette its the best hair products out there

ABSOLUTELY!!!

But in order to get the full effect, I'd recommend you use the full line, otherwise it's like buying the shampoo and no conditioner. Not sure what your ethnicity is, but I'm African American, and my hair already had different shades of natural but dull brown. I used it quite often, and it gave it multi dimensional shades of brown as if I had highlights...that is without the damaging effects of dye. Even my hair stylist liked it! Although I haven't tried it you might want to consider the new glaze, it may get your desired look faster. The more you use it, the better...I did it over the summer, so the sun may have also added to the change in my hair as well.

First, the price isnt too bad, especially at Wal-Mart, the smell is great but you will use twice as much conditioner than shampoo. The shampoo leaves a very dry feeling as though your hair is in very bad shape, thus leaving you to use extra conditioner to correct and starting and endless cycle. I would reccomend the Suave version, also available in Brunette and Blonde.

I have light brown hair. At different times i was using the shampoos and conditioner, the color glaze, the straightener product, and the hairspray. I loved the hairspray! It made my hair extremely greasy!!!! I have thin hair, but I don't think that was it. If you have really dry hair that needs lots of shine, go for it! It just was not for me...I tried so many!

The shampoo does not give colour but it gives a great healthy shine to my hair. You only need to use a small amount to wash your hair and it does the job quite well.

I use it with the conditioner and i would recommend it.

it doesn't "give" your hair any color, but it does add abit of shine to it.
like the other person stated, the shampoo really cleanses your hair so it feels different, but once you condition it, it's fine.
Money well spent, IMO. Considering it's on the low end of the salon style products that you can find anywhere.

My fave! best ever used - well I actually use the blonde one but it must work the same on brunette. Doesn't dye your hair but livens it up!
