I am doing some pre-wedding research on venues for the reception and did not want to contact the hotel quite yet.

Just email them for a package. I almost had a stroke when I got mine. I live in Philly and it was about $128 per person plus 7% sale tax and then 20% in graditute.
They are pretty over priced no matter where you go if you do a hotel.

its goin to be different for each area....

you can still call them, give them your name and just tell them you do not want anyone to contact you or follow-up with you on it b/c you are only getting prices to get an idea of what to expect. if they are pushy just simply thank them for their time and hang up.
