Usually you just show up and talk to them the first time. They will screen you and if they think that you are a good candidate they will go on from there.

Nothing really. The recruiter will let you know what he needs from you, but you don't need anything to go see him or talk to him. If you are only looking at joining, don't sign anything. Just sit down and talk to them. He will want to know your phone number, etc, because the recruiter will want to call you back and keep in touch with you because it is his job.

check on there and it will tell you exactly what you need to bring, usually the first time nothing you just talk. they will get basic info and then tell you what you will need to bring if you join. i know the army needed birth certificate, social security card, drivers license, high school diploma or record of GED and other stuff but they will tell you.
