Why are you not punishing the countries who are polluting much worse. America has done much more in the area of pollution protection than anybody. Has Gore personally gone to China, Russia, India and France? Are we demonstrating and causing public alarm like we do here in the USA?

You are forgetting the worst offender, the brazilian rain forest is known as the lungs of the earth. it takes in CO2 and expells O2. those pesky little ranchers, and wood harvesters are chopping up our lungs, so lets invade brazil. whose with me!

"Why are you not punishing the countries who are polluting much worse?"

Because there are none. America puts out far more CO2 than any other nation on Earth, incuding India and China. Considering the relative populations (1 billion+ for each of China and India, 300 million US) the per capita emissions are many times those of either of these other countries. On top of that, this has been the case for the past 100+ years of CO2 pollution.
We are polluting more than anyone else, therefore we should be doing more to fix the problem than anyone else. This is very simple logic to understand.

Although we're around 4% of the population, we consume 25% of the world's oil supply, so there is bound to be pressure for the U.S. to cut back and that's what we're doing. I don't exactly know if he did but should do so because it is anticipated that China and India will be able to pollute more than this country. I don't know if we are causing public alarm.

America is not being singled out. In fact, Australia is getting as much if not more pressure, because they bear a significant portion of the global pollution burden but have not ratified the Kyoto Protocol. Australian politicians take the issue very seriously, and it's major issue in the country.

China, Russia, India, and France are all ratified signatories to the Kyoto Protocol, so it is understood that they have every intention of working to reduce pollution.

Easy. It's because America is a major polluter, has the economic and technological means to address the problem but still appears to be doing bugger-all when compared to the rest of the developed nations. Sign up to Kyoto, dump Dubya and maybe the criticism will ease!

Global warming is mostly a result of the emission of gases like CO2 into the atmosphere. The united states has the most carbon dioxide emission in the world (24.3% of the total emission). Consequently if America reduces the emission it will have a great impact on the issue.
