With giant breed dogs it's best for them to be on the lean side rather than on the bulky side. An overweight dogs loses years in life-especially a large dog. Check your breed standards for what your dog should weigh at this stage in life. Feeding a well balanced diet should require no supplementation and keep your dog fit and healthy . I suggest rotating kibble manufactured by canidae, timberwolf organics and solid gold .Good luck!

Bordeaux's are big dogs and should be eating a large breed kibble, or an all-life stages kibble. If you look for one that is high in protein, like 26% and up and high in fat and also high in calories (k/cal), that would be best to put on weight than feeding him straight people food. People food can be too fattening for them leading to heart malfuntion and other health issues.
Blue Buffalo food at PetsMart in the adult large breed formula is a GOOD food and has a higher protein level. I would avoid Nutro foods because they can contain corn and wheat and soy which are allergens in dogs and can cause more problems then they are worth. There are way better foods for about the same price. INNOVA foods have a protein of 25%, Brightlife (By Nature pet foods) has a 25% protein, just so you get an idea. By Nature foods are sold at local chains and some smaller feed stores. You can check online http://www.bynaturepetfoods.com to see where they sell their product.
You can add cottage cheese and yogurt to their food for added weight boosts.
But first, and foremost, you should see your vet if you believe the dog has a weight gain issue.

What did your vet say?

How old is your dog?

Dogs grow differently. If you have a healthy dog (no worms etc) then the dog is probably just growing up, and around 2-3 years of age the dog will start growing out and broadening.

Keep your dog on puppy food (premium food no by products or corn) till about 1 year old then switch to a dog food. Nutro has a great large breed puppy formula.

Refrain from the human food - pasta and tuna. It can cause some bad habits to develop w/ your dog.

Good Luck

Talk to your vet to make sure your dog really needs to put on weight - dogs aren't supposed to be plump, you're supposed to be able to feel their ribs. Find out what the ideal weight is for your dog's breed and age - carrying around extra weight is hard on a dog's heart and joints, and will shorten their lifespan.
