I met this great guy--he's in the military and we have been together about 2 years. Well he's been deployed for 6 months and last I heard from him was 5 months ago. I've emailed him and no responses. He hasn't called either. Is he cheating on me? We have plans to move in together when he comes back to the US. Any advice?

Doesn't sound to good, my fiance is the army and keeps in contact with me at all times as best he can so really there should be no excuse. Have you tried contacting any of his family to see if they have heard from him? maybe ask one of them to get a message to him and ask him whats going on? you have a right to know whats happening and not contacting you for 5mths is just low. Next step get out there and find a man who treats you right and can at least have the decency to stay in contact!!

I think you should have a serious talk with this guy. It's not normal to treat someone like that for 5 months and then move in together. Do you know any of his friends that you could email/call and find out what's wrong

I used to be a Navy wife, and I know that communication can be difficult at times, based on security reasons. Depending on where he is deployed, and the level of security involved, it may be that they are not allowed to email anyone back at home.
What about his family? If you are planning to live together when he gets back home, I am assuming you have met his parents/family members? Have they heard from him?
It definitely sucks to not hear from your loved one for such a long period of time. If his family members and/or buddies have not heard from him recently either, then maybe it is for security reasons that you've not heard from him.

People in the military can be in the most remote areas and belive me, they are given free time to make phone calls. My friends boyfriend is in Iraq and he calls her everyday a couple times a day. Also they do have internet over there too, mad ppl hit me up on myspace everyday! So believe me out of the 5 mos he has been there, he has had opportunities to call you! So I wouldn't worry about what hes up to, worry about yourself! If things are meant to be, they will be!

There is nowhere on earth and no military assignment that prevents a serviceman from contacting loved ones for 5 months. You better get used to the idea that he is avoiding you for a reason.

my dad has been deployed and he CANT CALL YOU! The only ones who can email you is the cheifs, and the higher ranks. the others dont have time to. Just wait for when he comes back and have a talk with him. Dont be such a pessimistic.

Maybe he is somewhere he can't respond right now. You will have to wait and see when he gets back, or try to email again and see if he replies. No way to tell with him overseas right now.
