Yes. However, if there was no damage to anyone's property but your own, and the damage isn't much, you would be better off paying for the repairs out of your pocket. Remember, you have to pay the deductible; if the total is not much more than the deductible, I would pay it and not take a chance on my insurance rates being raised.

If you did major damage to someone elses property (wall), then you likely need to turn in a claim.

If you have full coverage you can make the claim and the insurance company will cover you less your deductible. They will also pay for any repairs needed for the wall.

This assumes a couple of things:

1) That you have full coverage (of course).
2) That this is an accident. (Deliberately driving into a wall is generally frowned upon by most insurance companies).
3) That there are no injuries (that the wall isn't claiming wiplash).

ok??

Well, that depends. Were you trying to kill yourself when you drove into the wall? If so, you could possibly be judged to be commting an offence that would negate insurance benefits. If you just lost control, then you had an accident, and that is what insurance is for. Now, what you can claim will depend on what coverage you have, of course. You don't say if you are looking to claim collision damage, or medical coverage, or possibly both.

Ummm yeah, but only if you have collision coverage. And if so, you will have to pay a deductible. If the damage amount does not exceed the deductible amount, then the claim will be denied.

Go get estimates for what it would cost to repair it. Then weigh your options. Is it cheaper to pay it out of pocket or to submit an insurance claim and pay the deductible AND have higher insurance rates?

That's a collision claim. If you have collision coverage you can receive payment for repairs less your deductible. Your liability coverage will also cover any damage done to the wall (as long as the wall is owned by someone else).

Yeap, you most likely have a deductible you will have to pay.

Why don't you read your policy over? That is the source to your answer.
