To dreaming of the beach: You have a good heart, i can see that and i agree that they should be able feed their families, but it's not what they are per say taking away from me(and you plus every other american citizen) it's what they are being used for to take to away from us. Please wake up from your apathetic slumber.

If firms desire illegals working for them then immigration regulations could be greater versatile to allow immigrant to return in for artwork yet this might inspire greater unlawful immigration except you place harder punishments on employers for hiring illegals, which by the way is against the regulation TOO. additionally people who've been right here for extremely some time and have not have been given any criminal record could get an amnesty yet they maximum pay fines...

Absolutely, a 2100 mile triple fence. Something Congress and the Senate does not have he balls to do. Could probably be done for 1 billion (you know, what we are probably spending a week in Iraq). I am very pro immigration. My great--great Grandfather and his wife got off a ship at Ellis Island, stood in line and registered to become legal American immigrants. In fact, unless you are a Native Tribe, your family did immigrate here.
My issue is that INS has physically caught and detained Syrians, Lebanese, Chinese, Peruvians, North Koreans and Iranians crossing our border illegally. Is anyone naive enough to believe the Senators and Congressmen don't hear about this at Intel briefings? What has Washington done to stop it??

Create special places where people can live and work legally without being able to enter mainsteam America and get free medical and education benefits. They could run their own little governments, and if they wanted to enter mainstream America, they could file the correct paperwork and do it legally. Oh, wait a second, I think they already have these places. They're called 'countries of origin'.
That's right people, if you want to come here, great! Just do it legally like my wife had to do. Yes, it costs lots of money. Yes it is a long and tedious process. But that is how we keep our country free of broke criminals. So deal with it. Respect our laws or deal with our criminal justice system.

Raise the Mexican minimum wage and hand out free condoms and B/C pills. In Canada we keep our dollar lower value than that of the US's, that way we don't have to put up fences to keep out our southern neighbours. We also have the "eh" test. If they can make three statements and say "eh" at the end of each, then they can work here on a card that constantly changes colour from blue to red and now blue and orange.

Put the visa exit tracking system back on track that Homeland Security in December decided wasn't cost effective, dismantle ALL benefits to illegals except emergency health care prior to deportation, put the REAL ID program into effect and a true employer database then really crack down on employers, remove the 1965 family basis for immigration, secure our borders, and when that is done, THOROUGHLY screen for twice illegals, gang members and identity thieves for deportation, then legalize the rest subject to a 5 year probation (no way can they really screen that many in any reasonable time.).
Isaakson's plan WITHOUT CHANGES would be acceptable, but a compromise. I don't think it does enough to root out gang members and identity thieves.

well punish the country were they come from because that is the cause of inmigrating to US... They can't make a living in their country so they inmigrate here...Means that country have a corrupt laws were poor=homeles and rich=live in mansions does that make sense to you? Think about it if the country were this ilegal come from if he can make a living a decent one for their family do you think they will like to go to another country were they will live illegaly and knowing that they can be deported anytime? I don't think so....They won't never live their family and don't get to see them...Sometimes years and years...So they do come here...That is my start point the US and the country were they come from have to figure out what to do...

I think the proposals in this link are a good start to addressing the illegal immigration problem.

Annex Mexico, they all want to be American so it should be pretty easy. Then they can start paying into the system. See how much they like America when they have to pay Fica and the other taxes.

I think Canada and the US need to just combine already.
We're all the same in the end.
Plus a lot of Canada's businesses are american own...so we might as well just be one country.
I'm Canadian but spend a lot of time in the states and lately the border has been really anal and makes it difficult for me to enjoy my visits.
