at my wedding, i had little bottles of bubble that had bells tied on ribbons around the neck of the bottles. the bells and ribbons were done in theme colors.
it was a BIG hit. while me and my husband were having our first dance, half the guests grabed a bottle and surrounded us so we were dancing in a cloud of bubbles.

My sister-in-law came up with my wedding favors. She bought tool (the mesh-type fabric) shaped in circles (available at any craft store) and she made a stamp that had my name and my husband's name on it w/ the month/year of our wedding. She wrapped butter mints (after dinner mints seen at many restaurants...little pastel ones-yummy!) in the tool then stamped a small piece of paper using the stamp she had made for us, and tied the tool closed with ribbons. It was very cute and inexpensive. I have the stamp as a keepsake and can use it for scrapbooking. Since most people were probably going out afterwards, the mints provided them w/ fresh breath to their next destination! My sister got married a week before Valentine's Day so she gave Hershey's Hugs and Kisses. It was also a big hit!

we donated money to st judes hospital and in return they sent us bookmarks which read
"With much thought and consideration, we chose a special way to say "thank you" for sharing our day, as we celebrate the beginning of our new life together. In lieu of a traditional wedding favor, we have made a donation in honor of you to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. We feel that one of the finest gifts is a gift which helps children live stronger, healthier and happier lives. That is why St. Jude was founded -- so that no child should die in the dawn of life. We truly appreciate you being a part of our special day."
this meant more to people than the useless candies and bubbles and we felt good knowing that we have made a difference in some precious childs life! all i ask is you check out there website.
its stjudes.org and look under ways to help and then on the left side you will see something that says wedding favors!
whatever you do may god bless you and your future husband and your wedding!

We are doing these little candy popper things. I think they are so cute. We got brown and pink ones and we are filling it with personalized pink, brown, and white M&M's. We are also doing personalized cigars for the men to take. Here is a picture.
http://www.now-and-forever.com/ProductCluster.cfm?prev=1&TempPrev=0&blnPreviewRequestSubmitted=0&recordsperpage=9&CompletedOrder=0&sBasketID=0&ClusterItem=Clust6103&iSubGroupID=1642&alogo=1&menu=none&morethanonepage=YES&HostDomain=0&FirstTimeThrough=1&option=ProductCluster.cfm&format=xx&CFID=18218109&CFTOKEN=63454905
Also they say to not spend alot of money on favors because alot of people don't appreciate them or don't even take them at all. That's why we chose M&M's and cigars. The kids will eat the M&M's and if we have leftovers well then hey I like M&M's and if the cigars don't get smoked then my fiance will be perfectly happy with that because he loves cigars. So it works. Good Luck!

Anything edible to be honest. We are having little bags made up with treats like cookies inside that the guests can enjoy later.
I would stray away from things that have your pictures on them or your wedding date, or things that arent used on a fairly often basis. Those gifts (the more personal ones) can be given to family.
Bookmarks are nice, as well as bubbles.
I would also suggest going through YA and checking what others have already written on this subject previously. Just type wedding favors in your YA search bar.
Good luck!

I gave lottery scratch offs. They were a big hit because a bunch of people won money. Its a cheap and fun gift that everyone can like. I also had jordan almonds as a little treat on the side. Good luck and don't forget to relax and have fun, it will be over in a flash!

My husband and I are huge music lovers. So for our wedding, we burned CD's of our favorite love songs (including the song from our first dance) for our guests. We designed our own label & cover for the cd's with our names & wedding date.
The best part was, we watched the office max ads for when the spindles of CD's and jewel cases were on sale for $19.99 with a $10 instant rebate and a $10 mail-in rebate.
Essentially, we made all our favors for free!

For mine, I'm getting these chocolate shot glasses that are available at our local grocer/party/catering supply store. Then I'm ordering custom color m&ms to put in them, wrapping them in tewell netting tied off w/an organza bow...both of which are in my wedding colors as well. Then from Oriental Trading, I'm getting these little wedding bell cards to place w/the candy filled shot glasses--they have a little "share a kiss for wedded bliss" type of saying on them and have a heart shaped cut-out w/a silver or gold bell hanging in it. All in all, I'm only spending about .90 each to make almost 100.
What kind of colors and theme are you going with? I have a TON of other favor ideas, but it all depends on your theme, colors, time of year of your wedding.
PLEASE feel free to email me!!!!

I am getting married in a garden so I am getting little mini terra cotta pots (33 cents each) and having seed packets designed with my wedding date and our names on them. I thought it was cute and inexpensive!
