I lived in CA and got a parking ticket from Taho Pkg Authority in Heavenly, NV. The whopping $50 makes me think if TPA a legitimate law inforcement. Anyone could answer this question? Should I honor it?

Yes, you do have to honor a parking ticket you recieve in another state. I used to live in Moorhead, Minnesota, which is right across the Red River from Fargo, North Dakota. I had a friend who recieved a parking ticket in ND but lived in MN. They ignored the ticket until one night when they happened to get pulled over for having a tail-light out and were arrested on a warrent for the unpaid parking ticket. Not only did they have to pay the original fine, but a late fee and court fee, which ended up being $200-300. You are much better off just to pay the $50 and be done with it. Remember, they probably took down your plate number, so they know who you are and where you live. While an unpaid parking ticket is not a serious enough offense that they will hunt you down, if they catch you, they will arrest you.

Heavenly is on both the CA and Nevada side. The TPA is contracted by the local police agencies to enforce parking violations. It is very valid and the tickets go to the local police agencies. When you fail to pay, the police know. Where you live doesn't have any bearing on whether or not you can be cited.

Yes, you should pay it. There are laws about people acquiring tickets out of state and not paying it. They can sue you and haul you back to NV to defend the lawsuit.
