So my ex and I broke up about a month ago we talk every now and then last night was the first time I spoke to her in a couple of days. SHe sounded very different. Like someone I didn't know. I noticed her accent was different. I was just wondering do people change when they are away at school like what type of phases do they go through.

A lot of people go through a phase when they leave for college of trying to "find themselves." They are in a new environment with completely new people and trying different things. For some, it's a fresh start and to kind of "get rid" of the person that they used to be. She might just be going through a phase, or she's actually wanting to become a different person. I've found that I'm vastly different now in comparison to when I started college (I'm a junior now), but for me it was a slower process...like evolution.
Being away from home for the first time can cause a lot of people to act differently.
