We all been taught that death is like the worst thing ever but could it be that death is what God gives us when he actually wants to be with us. After all we all have to die even Christ died so why is "death" such a bad thing. I'm saying is that life is so painful with incurable diseases and that death is the only solution to that. So if someone with AIDS or suffering with pain and live forever like that. Then isn't death a gift to them?

By the way, I'm not talking about suicide. I'm talking about natural death. This idea that death is how God takes the final step in supporting us is from a song I heard. Natalie Grant "Held" Here's the link to her lyric and tell me what you think. http://www.lyricsdownload.com/natalie-grant-held-lyrics.html

What a thought provoking question! I guess death is a gift and a blessing to some, but I would think it depends on where you are going after you die....whether or not it is a "gift" Maybe dying, and going to be with the Lord is more of the "prize"

No, death is a curse, it always has been. And no death is not a solution to pain and disease, it is simply the end of it.

OK lets say you have 2 beautiful baby twin daughters. They grow up a little and at age 4 they get kidnapped and shot in the head. Is that really God taking them or is it evil bringing about death? Is that a good thing? Are you going to have people coming up to you at the funeral congratulating you and telling you how lucky those kids are and happy they died?

No, death is a curse. For the unbeliever, it is a moment in their souls existence that seals their fate of doom until judgment. For the believer, it is a time of rest we will take knowing the our work on earth is ended with quite a while to cotemplate our failures and missed opportunities and loved ones that we're leaving behind that will miss us.

Im sorry, you were saying something about death being good???

If you are looking at things from a purely natural outlook, the great wise man Solomon would agree with you.
"The day of ones death is better than the day of ones birth." (Ecclesiastes 7:1)
However Jesus Christ has enlarged our understanding of the nature of things, and drawn back the curtain of the unseen world that lies beyond physical death.
The New Testament declares: "It is appointed for men once to die, and after this comes judgment" (Hebrews 9:27)
The Bible tells us this is an eternal judgment, resulting in eternal punishment and separation from God or eternal Life and happiness in the Kingdom of God.
Natural death is only a blessing if you have the true life - the life which comes through the knowledge of God residing within you.
"And this is eternal life, that they may know You (the Father), the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You sent." (John 17:3)

well at therisk of upsetting a lot of people...i don't believe in god. And I believe that death is the end. We only live once and should make the most of it. Death is not a gift it is just an inevitable process of life.

I believe in Christ. With that, I will have eternal life. Living or dead. Pray for those who are sick. God allows these things to happen for his glory. I'm sure that death will be really wonderful to endure. After all we will have our name in the book of life. We will have a room in a mansion. We will receive a new body. We will meet our maker at the table of many. I do look forward in that painless day.

I wouldn't necessarily call Death the ultimate gift from God. I would say the capability to understand and reach God is the ultimate gift, animals can't do that, only people can.

It all depends what we make of our life. If we obey God's rules and worship Him, and do good, then our reward is greater than we can comprehend.

If we worship others besides God (ie. Hinduism, Christianity,etc...), or if we live a life of sin and never asking for His forgiveness, then our home will be the Fire.

Ultimately, it's your choice. God has sent us many messengers to guide mankind throughout time, but still many have rejected His signs. I suggest reading the English translation of the Holy Qur'an.

Death is just the natural conclusion to the process of life. We're born, we live, we die...the end. The true gift is life. You only have one so live it to the fullest.
