I take the agnostic position simply because the proposition that a god exists is unfalsifiable. Believing in the big bang and some kind of god aren't mutually exclusive positions. After all, quite a few Deists view god as the catalyst of the big bang. Edit- I think that a strictly Gnostic position is a little unjustified. Our ability to know whether something exists or not depends on our ability to define it, and make testable observations and predictions. The concept god is so vaguely defined that there aren't really any criteria by which we can actually disprove it.
