I read that the Ethiopian Orthodox Church refused to give him a Christian burial. Is this true? If so why? How come some people believe that Haile Selassie is the second cdoming of Christ? Does the Ethiopian Orthodox Church really have the Ark of the Covenant? If they really do, do you think that might be really cool? Wouldn't you like to see it?

Hailie Selassie was emperor of Ethiopia and Eritrea before and after WWII until a coup by communist supported military officers executed him and instituted a socialist/facsist regime. He lived in exile during WWII until he gathere denough support to push them out of Ethiopia. The Ethipian Orthodox Church claims to have the Ark but they don't let anyone see it, convienient eh? Haile Selassie's real name is Ras Tafari Makonnen, that might be his dads name but thats where Rastafarian came from. A bunch of high Jamaicans decided he was the second coming of christ incarnate for some reason.

Some people believe that Selassie is the 2nd coming of christ because he is in the same bloodline as Jesus and King Solomon. Also, he made speeches in which some people said he spoke like a religious or spiritual leader.

He fought against the Italians when they tried to invade, so a lot of people started seeing him as a freedom fighter for the oppressed black people.

He is buried in the Trinity church where other members of Ethiopia's ruling class are buried. The government refused to give his funeral "official government status" because they said he was a brutal leader.

I don't think they have the Ark of the Covenant.

The Rastafarians see him as some sort of God.
Haile Selassie I was born Tafari Makonnen on July 23, 1892, in the village of Ejersa Goro, in the Harar province of Ethiopia, as Lij (literally "child", usually bestowed upon nobility). His father was Ras Makonnen Woldemikael Gudessa, the governor of Harar, and his mother was Weyziro (Lady) Yeshimebet Ali Abajifar.

Rastafarians believe Selassie is a God, based on misguided interpretations of scripture. They believe he is a liberator of Black people, when in truth he was a brutal dictator, who killed untold numbers of people.
