should people on government programs such as welfare, food stamps, housing and so on be required, if able, to pay back these programs. either with cash after they get a job and i mean a minimal amount as not to keep them from becoming self sufficient or with labor like habitat for humanity does with their 400 hours of sweat equity. otherwise we are helping these folks to become dependant on others. can we pursue this in washington. seems like a good idea. what do you think?

for natasha. i agree to some extent but so everybody knows where i am coming from. i have been around alot of these people most of my life and have seen first hand the abuses. two for instances. a high school "friend" who lived off of the government but drove a $40,000.00 dollar vehicle and another is a family in my local paper who is a third generation supportee. grandmother, mother and two daughters. 40 plus years on government support. i know this may be the exception not the rule.
