So I am a Christian, I know Jesus is the Son of God, Believe He is all knowing and powerful, but I am not as "up-tight" as many christians get labeled. I have four tattoos, I drink, I am trying to quit smoking, I cuss, and I don't like hanging out with only Christians. It's hard for me to believe that many other Christians are the same way. I have a personal relationship with Christ, but so many christians are up tight and in to telling people they are wrong instead of being loving of all different types of people, just like Jesus. Jesus didn't shun anyone. Gay, Black, atheist, liberal, conservative. He was wicked cool. I am NOT in to casting people out.

Why do I feel like I am the only one out there like me? Know how someone like me can get connected with other Christians (real, passionate Christians, not fake every sunday only christians)?

You are right when you state, that Jesus did not judge anyone. I try to practice in that same guideline. We should reach out to those unbelievers, show them the love of Christ. But then also not forsaking the gathering together of the believers, through fellowship. Be the light, but do not allow your light to go out. There is a time when you reach out, love like Christ, plant seeds. But then you at some point have to get out because they could bring you down. Meaning, they could turn you away from your main focus. I believe there is a resting time, where when you are in ministry, there should be a time where you retreat to a place of peace. whether it be your prayer closet. Whether it be on vacation. The main point is to get recharged by the Holy Spirit. Fresh anointing, & fresh fire, from the Holy Spirit.
I do believe that some of the christians of the church have fallen asleep, and have been in a comfort zone, for to long. Static, Staying in the same place spiritually, never reaching out, never deepening there relationship with the Almighty. I believe that they need that spiritual awakening. So they can be properly used by the Lord, to Love as He loved, to teach as He taught, to heal as He healed, & to have the authority that all believers should have. May you have an experiance with the Holy Spirit, that is life changing. That can help impact the church of today.

I see where you are coming from. I am also a born again Christian. But, im a teenager n i hang out with mainly Christians, probably because they were my friends before i was a Christian too, and we all became Christians at around the same time. I dont have any tattoos, n im not old enough to drink n i dont smoke. But, if i was to turn Christian when i was 30, then maybe i would drink, maybe i would have tattoos, and maybe i would smoke. So... your not the only one. Dont feel alone. I'm the most "un-uptight" person you could meet, so im not on the 'uptight' bandwagon!
GOD IS AMAZING!

Amen

Hey, girl you aren't alone. He is with you. You sound like me. Keep looking to the Lord and you will only exclude the hypocrites. When I read the bible those are the ones He seems mad at and the ones using the house of the Lord for profit.
Last month I had an epiphany that has changed me forever. Look up God made me/the letter and see what this baptist preacher discovered about some of the wrong translations dealing with sexuality says. I went to a dear gay friend and apologized for all my wrong preaching and judgment. Maybe this would help you as it has me. If that doesn't work try God made me this way/the letter.

Oh boy. I don't know where to start. I've been one of the baddest humans around, and I admit it. james 4-4 says if you offend in one point, you are guilty of ALL.how can this be? because A King (the creator is so much more intelligent)than us.
I now realize that I may be destined to become a fu--ing King! Knowledge is power. I know something ( after much study and HONEST soul searching) that nobody on earth knows. All I need is the courage and will power. That is actually the hardest part, but if it was easy, it wouldn't be worthwhile. When he said I come as a thief, I guess he meant it! He isn't actually coming back. His student is. When a student succeeds, a good teacher loves this MORE than his own success. Christ is a very good teacher. If I fail, it is Nobody's Fault But Mine.
By the way, you are right on the money about them being fakes. The emperor is naked.

OK with this question you are going to have to ignore most of the answers - I'm sorry people can be so s***** about real questions.

If you can handle the unconventional services (you literally sit in silence for an hour listening for god to speak to you) and the lack of a leader in the service and hymns. Try a friends meeting otherwise known as Quakers. They will allow you in and you can see if it suits you, you may need to check what kind of friends it is if you live in the US though as some groups over there still practice their original fundamentalist Christianity.

The only other Christians I ever came across who felt like this met in each others houses and had a similar approach. I'm sorry I cant offer any other help, I'm sure you will get a lot of people telling you you aren't a real christian but keep trudging through its your relationship not theirs.

PS Where were you lot when I was a christian eh? Heavens sake finally come across a bunch of people who wouldn't have persecuted me and I don't agree with you anymore bloody typical!

I love Jesus and I do believe you love Jesus also.

Please, however, let your life reflection your love for Jesus to your friends. There is nothing wrong with drinking. But you are not loving Jesus if you get drunk. You are also not loving Jesus when you cuss. Cussing is not proper for God's people.

But I do agree Christians need not to be so "up-tight" And be willing to hang out with all types of people. I mean look at Jesus. Can you say, surrounded by sinners?

That's exactly the way I am also.I am not religious,I am spiritual and I know I am a sinner saved by Grace. However I do constantly strive to do better, and continue to grow spiritually.I love meditating on His word day and night as much as I possibly can.He has shown me through His word how completely Logical His Word really is.It just blows my mind when I stop to think how stupid the world brainwashed me to think and scares the hell out of me to think that I could not see how bad the virus and parasite infested thinking they actually imputed to my brain. All those blind guides that were so far off course but banded together.Take care and may God bless you.

It is great that you love Jesus, but if you truly are his disciple then you must live as he lived. Jesus didn't cuss, didn't get drunk. Jesus loved sinners and showed them the right path to God. It is good to be a "light" to the world, so that Jesus' light may shine to others through your good Christian actions/behaviors.

"envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God" galatians 5:21

I do experience the affection of God. i've got self belief it each and all the time, yet frequently while i'm by skill of myself praying to God out of a trustworthy heart. each and every so often it only sounds like an invisible hand that holds you once you're weary and then each so often it feels like the stress that drives you to circulate on residing whether it does not experience as though existence is well worth it. each and every so often it feels as in case you have only eaten a bowl of soup on a chilly wet day and you have that heat comforting feeling interior and then each so often once you're on my own an scared, God is your comforter. God would be something which you have want of. His love is everywhere consistently, and so the only reason which you do no longer experience it is for the reason which you havent opened your heart to Him and allowed your self to experience it.

You are not alone. True believers in God will not cast people out. They will always try to help others see what they are doing is leading them away from God. I think it is wrong to alienate others. We are all sinners.
