Okay this guy and I are assigned to be partners to work on a project together for about two weeks. The first day we start the project the first thing that comes out his mouth is, "You know, we will probably end up together." What is he trying to say? Or what did he mean by that?

A few days later I got to class before him and I was setting down my books. He said, "Go ahead and sign us in secretary." I looked at him half smiled and said, "In your dreams." Then he didn't say anything so I left and went to the bathroom. The thing is he acts like he likes me but then when asked he denies it. I don't get what that means? Any advice would be helpful.

He will make an effort to talk to me just because I was by myself he ditched one of his friends to come and talk to me.(he's done that more than once or twice) I like talking to him because he makes me laugh but i'd like to know if he likes me? Oh he has been acting this way for a whole semester now. He's asked to see if I care about him in a kind of smart alic way. Then more recently when we were assigning jobs for a debate he was looking at me the whole time then torwards the end of asigning jobs said we need her and was refering to me. Then before the debate he got my attention(i was talking to some other people)gave me 2 thumbs up, smiled at me, and asked if I was ready for the debate. Something else strange was we had PE together and they told all girls to go and get dressed. So my friends came to get me to tell me that then he started to follow me so his guys friends jumped up and held him back and told him that he wasn't a girl. He says he doesn't like me. What do you think?

He is a guy. Guys like to flirt. It is a game to them. If he liked you he would say he liked you, or given you clearer signs. I am sure this is not the answer you want...but it sounds like you are reading WAY too much into these small gestures. If you like him, than buck up, and ask him out...if he says no or yes...than you will know. From what it sounds like, there is nothing there than possible admiration for your brain. Of course this all depends on age. I am assuming you are in highschool? anything lower than highschool, thats a whole new ball game.

A lot depends on how old you are and what type of project you are doing. School??? Work???? I have found that when the opposite sex's work on something exclusively together that more often then not if there is a sense of accomplishment together that can evoke feeling for one another even though these feeling may be false. Plus working together on a project closely really does let two people to really get to know one another and you are forced to see beyond just the physical attributes of one another. He may have also been interested in you before but this has given him the opportunity to actually start acting on that. I wouldn't say it was the best way to do it but sometimes guys say and do dumb things when they like someone. Read the article I put in the sources and it talks about workplace romances which may give you some insight on why this happens

Communication is everything, if you two can't figure it out, you aren't ready for it anyway. It sounds like you are young and there is plenty of time, this may the first time, but highly doubtful the last time.

first off i would like to thank you for your advise to me.
i think that this guy is debating in his head if he shud or shudnt go for it with you which isnt fair on you but you have to decide if you want him and if you do then start by confusing him with subtle flirting and then no flirting at all because this will take his mind off his current debate and make him question if you like him. at which point he will subconciously think you do but still question it. and i jus happen to kno that guys are attracted to girls who make him question his approach just because its intruiging.
so to sum it up my best guess is that he is a confident yet indicicive guy.

I think it means that he's attracted to you and that the probably threw that comment out there to get your reaction. It sounds like you may both enjoy working on this joint project. Enjoy his attention!

why dont you ask him? he could mean that you will end up together as partners all the time or it could mean that he likes you and he was trying to hint to you that he wants to ask you out the only way you can tell is if you ask him. tell him that you didnt understand what he meant.

This could either mean he likes you in a way that could result in a relationship because you will bond during this project

Or ...

You'll end up in bed together.

I'd hope for the first one.
