Has anyone recieved a credit card collection notice from Wolpoff & Abramson???

Are these people as bad as I have read??? Anyone had a bad experience with them? I'm trying to settle a debt I have. Don't know if sending them the money is the right thing to do after reading about them!!!!! HELP!!
