So I've tried to ask people but I've got very little responses. I want to be a kindergarten teacher and was thinking of taking an online associates degree program and then transfer my credits to Ohio State University. I want to know if thats a good idea or not, and I also was wondering your opinion on getting a bachelors in Special Education? Im so confused right now, I just switched my career goals. Please Help

If you want to be a teacher that is admirable, however if you want to take on line classes to become one, your chances are slim.

Yes you can take some on line classes but most likely anything you take in regards to your actual field will not be transferable as most of the on line colleges are not accredited. If the are not accredited then your earned credits are useless as far as transferring them.

If you find an on line course, where you can earn credits then go and ask Ohio State University if they will accept those credits? DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT ask the on line college as most will say yes and then it is your problem when you have spent all that money and a lot of time that what you actually have is useless and non-transferable as well as not serving as true credentials for teaching.

Research the choices awhile before jumping head first, you may find there are some on line colleges that you can do this with, but most you can't ... Just make sure to ask the actual physical college if credits earned from the on line school will be accept, so many don't do that and then pay a heavy price in the end.

You might want to try a search on google or other search engine about on line school scams, etc. Maybe that will help you find out more and hopefully lead you to an on line school that actually does what it says.

Good luck

I'm actually enrolled in a Forensic Sci class that is a Distant Learning course. I actually LOVE the idea of this, living in Arkansas I can't really get a degree in that, however with distant learning courses I can. Plus it gives me more flexibility. Instead of having to finish work in class I can go home and do it with more resources, also I don't run the risk of losing my paper. The only con that comes to mind is that their are some technichal problems. But with time that can be fixed. All in all I enjoy it.

Interent degrees are a great option for people that can't attend a regular university. They are accredited so you will have the same credit hours as everyone else. The only downfall is you have to have a ton of self-disapline. You will have to be able to keep up with the studies and work extra hard. You won't have that in class lectures to learn from. Good luck!

I personnally know many people who've taken online classes. If you make sure that your credits will transfer, then I would say go for it.it is a cheap and easy alternative to get your basic stuff out of the way.
