My 4 yr old brother has a runny nose, high fever, headache, stomachache and will not stop crying. Help, I feel so bad and we do not know what to do. We gave him childerens motrin, he is eating some little things like crackers, and he is drinking ginger ale and juice. We were thinking of calling his docter but my mom is currently away and we are at my aunts house in another state. We need help on what to do. Thank You SOOOO much.

If I live to be 100 I will never understand why people have to ask strangers for medical advice from strangers for something as precious as a human life what is it people are just ignorant or too cheep to seek the professional treatment from a DOCTOR!!!

Try alternating between children's motrin and tylenol. For example, Tylenol give at 8:00 am then give motrin 4 hours later. then tylenol two hours later then motrin again 4 hours later, etc. This helps keep down the fever. The ER suggested I do that so it is perfectly safe. Be sure to give him water or pedialyte instead of juice. Any kind of sugar in fruit juices makes their stomach even more upset. Pedialyte hydrates the child, but you can also use gatorade if Pedialyte is not available. Also make sure that he is urinating or he has tears coming out when he cries. If not then that means he is dehydrated.
Most importantly get him to a doctor as soon as possible, even if you have to go to an emergency room and wait.

Call your mom. If his fever is 101 or higher and cant keep food down then if you cant get a hold of your mom I would call the Dr. The nurse can at least tell you what to do from there. Good Luck and God Bless

If he has a high fever he could get dehydrated...make sure he is drinking plenty of fluids. Chances are he has a cold or the flu but you should take him to doctor. Better safe than sorry!

If he's running a consistently high fever (not just a fever, but a high fever), take him to a local doctor if necessary. Or, if you have them, there are usually clinics/urgent care 24 hour centers in larger cities.

Eh, he's got the flu. Only so much the Doctor can do anyway. Its just going to take him some time to get over it. You really only need take him to the Dr. if the fever gets really high, otherwise just keep him drinking as many clear liquids as possible.

Ok, ask him if his ear hurts. Lots of times an ear infection will cause that. Also ask him if his throat hurts. If so, give him popcicles to help.
Give him over the counter children's cold medicine.
don't worry about calling Dr. it sounds like a common cold.
However if his ear hurts, give him a warm washcloth to lay that ear on, and if it doesn't get anybetter by tomorrow, THEN call the dr.
Many times people panic over little things. but you also know your brother better than we do. So IF you suspect anything is seriously wrong, then do what you feel is right.

I agree. I would take him to a doctor or call his regular doctor depending on the time difference of where you are. Until then pop in a movie and give him alot of blankets. Try to keep him comfy while you wait.

stomach ache doesnt make any sence. The rest of the symptoms sound like flue. High fever si very very bad. Dont warm your brother up. Put tap water (not towards warm but towards cold) soaked cloth onto his forehead after wringing the cloth so watre doesnt drip. And kep doing do till the temparature drops. 101 degree centigrade is very high temparature for fever.
Be careful and call a neighbour or 911 for help.
