The writer of the NT were of both common lifestyles and higher class. Paul was high up in status in the Roman army. matthew was a tax collector. luke was a doctor. In the OT you had David, a king. Solomon, the richest, wisest man ever. So don't think that it was written solely by tribesmen.

Not so.They came from all walks of life. There were 40 different authors,on 3 continents, written over a 2000 year period, most of whom didn't know each other but they all knew and agreed on the nature and purpose of God.
For example: Moses was raised in all the splender and education of Egypt. He wrote the first 5 books.Joshua was a builder and a military leader.Samuel was a prophet raised in the priesthood.David was a shepherd and a King.Job was a tribesman but wrote in the most sophisticated fashion as did the prophet Isaiah.Daniel was highly educated memeber of the royal family of Israel.Matthew was a tax collecter,Luke was ,as Paul calls him,"The beloved Physician".Paul himself had a high education so much so that Felix said "Paul, much learning has driven you mad!"Some were fisherman ,some were herders, but they ALL were correct about God and His word.

Jim says yes... so it must be true!!
Seriously...the stories were very likely told around a fire among the tribesmen, especially before Moses. Though it doesnt really have as many atributes to "folklore" as many think. For arguments sake, we can assume for a moment that the miracles and such didnt happen and they were fabrications to make a story interesting, however, it is not a common element in "tribal stories" that pride wealth and sexual immorality are condemned. Could we assume that for no reason at all, these men in particular didnt want to be permiscuous, rich or powerful? Can happen but it's not very likely.

The Bible Is God’s Word
The Bible claims to be inspired. Peter said, “Holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” (II Peter 1:21.) The Holy Spirit (Holy Ghost) so guided the writers of the Bible that they could not make mistakes. “Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth” (I Corinthians 2:13.) Because of this there are no real contradictions in the Bible. Those things which appear to be contradictions disappear under close investigation.
That the Bible is true may be shown by several of its characteristics. It is scientifically accurate, even though it is not a book of science. It is historically accurate. Every attempt to prove it historically wrong has failed. It is prophetically correct as is seen in many prophecies which have been fulfilled beyond question. It is impartial, presenting both good and bad of all men, not trying to gloss over the sins of any man who might be “a man after God’s own heart.” It presents the world’s highest standard of morality. Finally, it has never been destroyed in spite of dozens of attempts to exterminate it.

No, and who said they were all tribesmen? The Bible is Gods love letter to humanity, its true all the way through, There is no false part to the Bible. The law is beautifull its Gods character, and it is in our best intrest to keep it. All the people that wrote it were civilized for the age they lived in.

How can you doubt this? Slavery is either explicitly OK or condoned. Women have the status of lamp posts. Law and especially punishment is harsh.
As for the city dwellers statement, what about Jerusalem? (just an example).
Plus, as I recently discovered, there is no such thing as 'the bible'. OT+NT or just OT? Apocrypha? All of them were collected and collated over a period of time. It's not as if one of these nuts just sat down and wrote it all in a divine flurry. Wikipedia has an amazing set of articles on the bible http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bible

Civilized/Uncivilized are very subjective terms... for example in 1000 years or less.. we are all likely to be thought of as superstitious uncivilized people.. Or barbarians if you please
A city dweller dosent make one civilized (Hardly.. have you ever been to a city? Sheesh) And many tribal orders are/have been quite civilized.

Because we all know that city-dwellers are so much smarter than people who choose not to live in cities? Or is it that if you don't live in a city, you're uncivilized? What's next? You just can't make up suppositions this silly.
