It makes sense to me.

If you have a leak in the pipes under your sink, and it's constantly spewing out water, are you going to just tape it and let it continue to dribble, or are you going to have it filled in or replace the pipe?

It may be a bad analogy, but it's fitting. We're having the same problem with the insurgents that are trickling in from various places. Since a lot of troops were sent home in the pretense that the major threat was over, after Saddam was overthrown, we simply don't have enough to reach a conclusion other than the stalemate we're in.

I'm sure we're all in agreeance that this has gone on long enough. If we increased the number of troops and simply zerged the area, rather than slowly throwing warm bodies at them, we'd get this over faster with fewer deaths.

Well I am a military spouse, who's husband has been in Iraq 3 of the last 4 yrs and he is possibly getting ready to return for a 3rd tour. Honestly, I would love to see this over with so I never had to worry about it again, however.....
If the jobs not done, its not done. Forget this half-assed crap that has been going on over there. We can't just leave that would cause a lot more problems, and we would just have to re invade and start all over, but this time with a lot more opposition.
So we need more troops to get it over and done with. There should have been more to begin with, and we need to stop tying the soldiers hands.
I don't think they should be allowed to abuse prisoners, or do anything unethical, but...... there has to be a line. Just because a prisoner says he is abused, doesn't mean it happened. But everytime they make the claim, it takes another soldier away from duty for investigation.
This is war, its not nice, definitely not pleasant, and is extremely bloody. If people don't like war, turn off the damn TV!
Oh, and by the way I am a democrat! lol

Apparently, most members of the military are Republicans. Al Gore sought to have their votes excluded during the 2000 election. Why would he do that? hmmm

It is also quite obvious that the people spitting on the troops as they returned from Vietnam were Democrats, true?

The simple fact is, you can send in the entire Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps and it will have no effect if they won't let us kill bad people. We're so worried about hurting people's feelings that we can't just stand and fight anymore. That's no way to fight a war. I don't know of any country that's ever won a war by not fighting.
