Qi gong is the precursor to Tai Chi. Chi is housed in the abdomen and can be moved by breath and intention. The master controls his chi by doing qi gong excercises and using breath and intention.

The surest way to find out is to practice the discipline for
yourself.

Take the answer of anybody who does not practice Qigong with
a grain of salt.

Sigh.

There is no magic. If you refer to Chi as channeling internal energy to allow a person to accomplish physical feats, it's a result of practice.

If you mean they are throwing their "chi" out to affect other people - that's crap. Can people fool themselves into believing it? Sure:
