Alydaeus? I want a unique name for my daughter, and Alydaeus suits her. She can go by Aly for short :). I really don't like the popular names, and this name just make her seem so unique and special :). What do you think of the name?

For some reason it sounds like a boy's name to me. I like Aly though. Think of when she gets to pre-school and has to learn to write her name, that might help you make your decision.

I don't really like the full name (Alydaeus), I can't even pronounce it but the short version Aly is beautiful and not so common. I know how you feel anyway about the popular names, I also want something unique for my daughter and lots of persons have voted against the name I've chosen (Tiana-Marie) but I just love it, so if you are totally comfortable with the choice you've made...............go 4 it!

It is very unique but think about it this way, how long is it going to take her to learn how to spell her name?

The only problem with that, is that she's always gonna be asked to spell it and everyone will probably mispronounce it. Think of yourself with that name and how you would feel. I like it, though!

I think it is to much because when she get ready to start school it will be hard for her to learn to spell.

It is definitely unique. If you like it that is all that matters.
