Simple white or yellow cake topped with the vanilla frosting that has the confetti/candy bits in it. It's just soooo yummy...and plus I don't like chocolate, strawberry, lemon or coconut.

I love any type of chocolate cake; my very favorite is German chocolate cake - the mixture of pecans, coconut, and frosting is delicious. I also love anything that's death by chocolate - chocolate cake, chocolate mousse, chocolate icing, et al. I don't like strawberry type desserts, angel food cake, or fruit fillings really. Sometimes, I'll make an exception with raspberry because it goes so well with chocolate.

Our family favorite........hands down is...
A layered Angel food cake.
The 1lb. Angel food box mix is very, very easy to make.
After you cook and cool it...cut it into three layers.
(You can buy the angel food cake already made in the store...but some of those are kind of small)
Mix 1/2 8oz. package softened cream cheese with 4 tablespoons of your favorite jam or simply fruit spread .... cherry, raspberry or strawberry are excellent choices.
Divide cream cheese mixture in half, spread between layers.
Refrigerate until cream 1-2 hrs. to "set filling.
Frost with Cool Whip.
This is a yummy cake. Since I discovered it....it is the only cake my family want for their birthdays!

rum cake
Cake:
1/2 cup chopped, toasted pecans or walnuts
1 18-1/2 oz. yellow cake mix
1 1-3/4 ounce instant vanilla pudding mix
4 eggs
1/4 cup cold water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
3/4 cup dark rum
Glaze:
1 stick butter
1/4 cup water
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup Barcardi dark rum
Cake: Preheat oven to 325 degrees @ 1 hour.
• Grease and flour a Bundt pan.
• Sprinkle nuts on bottom of pan.
• Combine all cake ingredients.
• Pour into prepared pan
• Bake for 1 hour.
• Remove cake from oven and pierce holes in the cake randomly to allow the glaze to soak in (an ice pick works well).
• With the cake still in the Bundt pan,
immediately pour on the glaze
*** an injector works great with glaze to put directly inside
Glaze: Melt butter in saucepan. Stir in water and sugar. Boil 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in rum.

My sister-in-law makes her family's secret recipe - eggnog cake. I don't even have that recipe. My least favorite is carrot cake, too. It has pineapple juice in a lot of recipes and I almost died eating it once before I found that out.
